If anyone has any tips about availability, dealers to trust/avoid, price, etc for buying a Prius C in the Vancouver BC area, please let me know. I'm looking at the base model (USA calls this the Prius C Two).
Yep, and the Three and Four are called Prius C Technology Standard Package and Prius C Technology Premium Package. To confuse matters further, dealerships refer to those two as the "B Package" and "C Package".
Our C1 in Australia comes with Infotainment audio screen system, Fog Lights, centre arm rest compartment, 2 tone Grey trim, 15 inch steel wheels, Halogen lights, 60/40 split rear seats ...AND.... rear seat "Low" headrests which make rear window visibility for the driver... SO MUCH BETTER. The price here is a ridiculous $28,000 drive away. Of course I've bought one because I Love the car!. It's been fascinating to learn the different feature offers of the 'C' in other countries like U.S & Canada? Sounds like our Entry level in Oz is equivalent to a C3??
I found my C at Downtown Toyota. Easy to deal with and helpful, even though I seemed to know more about the car then they did. This was the week they came out and they happened to have the exact one I was looking for. I'd say call around and ask if they ACTUALLY have the model you looking for on there lot. Good luck!
Downtown says they have no base models on the lot and that most dealerships are waiting for them to come in by boat. Destination Toyota in Burnaby has a few Technology but no base. One dealership I called has the base model in orange and black, two units only. The orange is a bit garish and black is hard to keep clean... but since I haven't ruled it out, I am not naming them (you can find out easily enough) Did you pay precisely MSRP, or did you get any significant amount shaved off?
YES - I DO Have the Reverse camera. I forgot to mention that! . For the entry level car - I'd say, we're getting it pretty good here . Our top level package of the C is called the I-Tech. With this we don't get the sunroof, heated seating, and high rear seat headrests. (they're "low" on both our models). There are 2 style choices of alloys that U.S get. We have 1 of them that is same as yours - but our other is different. It's a sports mag (like a turbine blade look) that's darker in colour. a bit like an aluminium grey tinge? I've mentioned this note in a previous thread.... that.....Because the Prius C is selling like hotcakes in U.S, Japan & everywhere else, ,,,,Toyota Japan are only releasing 1200 cars in Australia for 2012! Those who purchase early like i did - will become lucky owners of this wonderful car. and this one's mine. Models available in Oz : PRIUS C = THE ENTRY LEVEL with the features I've mentioned previous (priced at under $28,000 drive away) and.. I-TECH = TOP OF THE LINE (priced at under $33,000 drive away) as you can see - our prices are FAR MORE EXPENSIVE (because of stamp duty & tax)
ANOTHER minor "difference" between our C models and U.S I've noticed... is that our headlights do NOT have the ORANGE tint on the corners - (which i think are the indicator lights?) look at my photo above and see that they are pure white.
I have located one suburban dealership with a Magnetic Grey base model, and they've agreed to hold it with a $500 authorization on my card until I visit tomorrow morning. The price quoted over the phone was exactly MSRP plus dealer fees (plus HST). I doubt I'll be able to get much better than that, but I'll make some effort and I'll bring a friend for moral support. As long as they aren't jacka$$es, there's a good chance I could seal the deal tomorrow. Galaxy Nexus ? 2

Well lookie here... in the glove box I found a purchase agreement where the dealership I bought it from purchased it from another location in town. The original dealership had a pre-delivery sheet that said March 14th, 2012. The purchase agreement for the transfer is dated April 9th, 2012. I bought it a full two months later. I wonder how it lasted so long on the lot? Here are the details on the internal purchase agreement: Price of vehicle: $19803.00 AC excise recovery: $100.00 PDI & freight: $1250.00 Total vehicle price / Subtotal: $21153.00 HST: $2538.36 Subtotal: $23691.36 In comparison, my purchase agreement was for $20800.00, freight $1565.00, A/C $100.00, subtotal $22490.00, total $25188.80. So their total pre-tax profit on price was $1337.00. I guess they gotta make their money somehow.
I don't know, but when I requested an invoice price report from carsaver.ca, it gave the same invoice price $19,803 but freight $1,565. So maybe the lower freight amount is for internal transactions. Galaxy Nexus ? 2
