Trying to get some ideas here. Doesn't need to be a Toyota or Hybrid keychain. Can be anything cool, simple, tech, nerdy. Anything goes. So let's see your keychains!
No key chain for the Prius just the SKS fob. I do have other keys but they are on a separate ring. I like to keep my auto keys clean with out a bunch of junk. My keys for my wife's Tacoma are just the ignition key and the fob. For my delivery van I do have a key chain it is one of those ones that separate in to two peices on one side is the ignition key, the other has the gas cap and the key for the pad lock on the back roll up door. Not sure of what you're asking for, my fob has my house keys, a couple of shoppers club key cards, and a button sized LED flashlight?
I have the Monopoly RaceCar Game Token as my Prius Key Fob. I always wanted it for the Prius. Extremely hard to find, Hasbro had made these widely available as keyrings a while back - But I had to order mine from a Canadian gaming store. The official keyrings are actually larger than the real tokens and most importantly they have attachment loops on them.
I have my fob and my 2 house keys on a D ring hooked up to my purse, and I keep them in an open outer pocket in the purse. The D ring is so that they don't fall out somewhere.
Grappas – Since the SKS Fob “Key” is really an encoded radio transponder that “talks” to the Prius, and never needs to be physically and mechanically available to “Hand Key” anything, I have it attached to a neck lanyard along with my other ID, access, and keying paraphernalia. No keys in the pocket, and it is hard to misplace and forget --- It works for and is convenient for me. My P-Shuttlecraft “RF Beams Me In,” wags its aerofoil tail, happily chirps, unlocks the shuttlecraft door, and is waiting for me to energize it to commence travel at “V”arp Speed to where no man (or woman) has consumed so little fuel per mile before.
Don't have the chance to take and share a pic(if only there was an easy way of posting pics from an iPhone or iPad to the forums here ) , but my Prius fob is much lighter than I had with my old Baja. I now have two keychains, one with the Prius fob with my "house" keys, and a separate one for the keys I need for work. Now if I can get Toyota to offer an option of my locking up my condo while keeping the keys in my pocket. Now that might be an option I would pay extra for. Just maybe... Loving being able to keep my fob in my pocket after I leave the house...
An OT post of sorts... had a customer recently that shared me his rental car key chain - it had both keyless fobs and keys attached via the "steel security" cable like Boe showed in their pic.... Go figure
There is download the Tapatalk app from the app store. Quick and easy picture uploads from you iPhone or iPad and it is a nice user interface. Posted from my iPhone via the Tapatalk app.
I have gotten rentals with both keys and Fobs like how you described I thought it was odd. I thought about it and then it kinda makes since because usually the cars get driven or moved around the country so if the car started in California and the spare key was there and then it was driven to Florida and the keys were lost or locked inside the spare key in California would be useless. I have also rented a car and found the second set of keys were in the glove box in a bag with the documents and manuals. Posted from my iPhone via the Tapatalk app.
