Hi- I (finally) received my "extendmyseat" for my Prius V. At 6'2" I am tall, but not the tallest. The V already has more overall room than the regular Prius (one of the reasons I got the V), but the leg room gave me cramps. At $200 ($179 plus shipping) this is not cheap. After a long wait (many weeks), it finally arrived: well packed. It off course came with instructions. The black and white photos were hard to interpret, but the video on YouTube made it fairly simple. The brackets are supposed to have arrows on them showing the orientation. If they are there, I never found them. A quick look at the video made it clear. Overall, it took about half hour to install You do have to slit the carpet, but this is not a big deal. The leg room with this extension is now HUGE. All the way back, I can barely reach the peddles. Definitely worth the investment for me. Easy enough to install. Cosmetically, it looks professional. Can you post some pictures? I'll be curious to hear how this works for you once you've used it a while. I'm about 6'1", with relatively long legs. I find there is plenty of legroom in the v (more than most other cars I've driven!), but my legs still get fatigued on long trips, even more than they did in other (smaller) cars. I think this is due to a lack of thigh support towards the front of the seat - if there were more padding there, or if the seat tilted back 10 degrees, I think it'd be much better. Others have suggested the seat is too short front to back, and that's the reason for the lack of thigh support. It could be that moving the seat farther back would help - so let me know what you think! But I also found that when I put the seat all the way back, that my arms got tired holding on to the steering wheel after a while. I wish the steering wheel telescoped out further, and tilted down further, but since it doesn't, I suspect just sliding the seat back further wouldn't solve my seat issues. None of these things are huge deals - on drives up to 45min or so, which make up 90% of my use of the car, the seat and steering wheel feel fine. It was only on a several-hour road trip that I found it uncomfortable. Fortunately there are enough seat adjustments (height, forward/back, lumbar) that I could always mess with something, and just changing position helps some. Anyway, I'd appreciate pictures and more detailed opinions on whether the seat rail extension helps with leg fatigue. Noticed you mentioned the nav override - this definitely goes in the "worth it" category for me! Price is always debatable, but I don't think it's too steep. I'd be amazed if you could buy ALL the parts for $5 - if you already have a variety of electronics hardware on hand, you might be able to finish it off for $5. But if you were to go buy all this stuff new, I think you'd be into it for at least $20. I'm sure if you bought all this stuff in bulk, it'd be cheaper per piece, but I wouldn't have a use for extras of most of this stuff, so it wouldn't really be cheaper. If I'm wrong, show me receipts, price lists, whatever! I am curious. And even $20 worth of parts is admittedly a lot less than $80 for the kit, but I appreciated having everything collected and assembled for me, and I personally think the inventor of this gadget should receive something for his idea and his time. To each his own! If this were woodworking, and someone offered a kit with pre-cut wooden parts, there's no way I'd pay a premium, because I have tools and lumber and enjoy playing with them. If that's you with electronics, go for it and have fun! Either way, once it's done, it's fantastic that a passenger can actually USE the GPS... Andy

Agreed and agreed, except I used the bypass set so that my wife can watch her DVD while we're on the road. BTW, she's the one who approved the price..which was rare.

Hi- I put in the amp and speakers myself. I enjoy working with electronics (usually circuit boards, not amps and speakers). You will need to crimp and heat shrink a LOT of wires, it is easy to get overwhelmed.
We had the seat extenders in our previous Prius and 09 Touring..do you know if they will fit in the Prius v? we loved them and at 5'10 ( me) and my hubby at 6'11 they made a HUGE difference!
