Gen2 Prius: Custom PIDs for Torque (Android App) with formulas

So I have added the oil temp but dont get a reading. IS this info not available from the prius? Isnt there a sensor for oil temp installed in the prius? If not, has anyone added one? Where?

 

Just wanted to thank everyone who contributed here and elsewhere. Very nice project and it works great.
I got myself a KiWi BT adapter and use my Android phone (Galaxy SII) to display information (I am still new to it and trying to find the best information to display).
I noticed the Metric CSV file does not include as much information as the US version (137 for the US, 124 for the Metric). It is missing interesting stuff like MG1 or MG2 Power. Am I missing something (I used the zip file linked in the first post of this topic)? Did the Metric version lag behind and has not been updated? If that's the case I can probably try to fix it.

Firstly, I've attached my modifications to the metric file. Changelog below:

(my memory is vague, there was some discussion about how these brake torque PID's worked, but I can't seem to find the thread. I've done a straight units conversion and copied across to metric in the meantime)




US has the following in metric also (could be deleted, but you're not missing out in metric)

MG1 Torque (lbs-ft)
MG2 Torque (lbs-ft)
ICE Power Request (hp)

I think the "combined power" is nonsense ... it's simply adding mg1 + mg2 + engine power request.... which is utterly naieve about how power flows in the transmission. So I've left it gone from metric. I think it should be gone from imperial too.


there are 2 HV battery power.... one on pid 21c3 and one on 21ce ....

hv battery power on 21c3 seems simpler equation however unsure of units, the /1013 doesn't seem quite right from a 'round number' perspective, but it's what my math gives from the old forumla. My derivation assumes we're talking straight volts * amps "power resource" (I've renamed this "battery power resource" to reflect the PID's it comes from) and assumed the /1013 should be /1000 for a straight units conversion from watts to kw.) Perhaps this needs clarification/explanation from someone in the know?

 

Having a little tricky time with my Galaxy Nexus. Doesn't seem that installing Torque created the .torque directory in /mnt/sdcard. I tried to create the directory in Astro, but it won't let me use the . in front of it. Windows won't see the torquelogs directory, and a few other directories, and also will not let me create a directory with a leading .

Maybe I need to fire up a Linux VM and see if I can see it.



FIXED.

Apparently Astro is stupid. I downloaded another file manager app, and the .torque directory was there and I was able to get the extended PIDs to work!

 

Question, why does the HV SOC PID go from 0 to 160?

 

Wy is the soc 21ce for the SOC where i read it is 3cb?

Is it also possible to send messages on canbus with the latest app?

i have tried to send 556 2D D2 00 and 5562DD200 and just 2DD200

but no luck...
i am correct that the bms response with a message on 555 not on 556? right?

 

Funny thing... My Galaxy Nexus when running Torque, plugged in to power... still loses battery! LOL.

Guess it's sucking a lot of juice to run the app, with GPS and BT communications going. Might need to check my USB adapter, it may only be putting out 1A. A 1.5A charger may work better.

Has anyone elses HV battery PID's stopped working with the latest torque update?

 

I though I was driving nuts; now that you ask I'm tying the two ends together.
Me (2), neither of my 8 HY batt pid'd are operational.......

 

Always you can revert back to the previous version, I think?........

 

Gee, and I was getting "torqued" at my tablets inability to suddenly access the Android Market. I am now glad it's like that, I will stay with the version that seems to work so well! I would think if you have an old phone backup with the previous version, erase the current version on the phone, and load that old backup, you should have the good old Torque.

 

I don't think it's possible to go back to an old version unless you can find someone to download the older versions APK from...?

 

I was thinking if you had backed your device when it had the previous version of Torque. You could get back to the point Torque was working fine, but you would have to up date possibly other apps.
