Things people say about your Prius C that make you ROLL your eyes at them...

I have heard lots of jokes and snide comments about my 2012 P2 purchase three months ago. In the end the last laugh is on them with the great mpg's I have gotten so far.

So great that my fiancé and I will have no qualms in hitting the road to Charlottesville Va tomorrow just for the day. 200 miles r/t - cost of maybe $14 for gas and a day out sharing some time together and brunch down that way.

Sad thing is that we have become so polarized and divisive, that we can't be civil and congratulatory in new car purchases for any of our car choices. I remember a time that new owners of a Dodge and a Lincoln congratulated each other on the new rides.

Now those with perceived "better" cars feel the need to diss "lesser" owners...

 

"Hybrids are too quiet for me".

 

We are all about stopping misconception and yet you say the Smart is a rollover risk when that was stopped in 1999!

 

One of my coworkers made a sny remark about it but I simply reminded him of the time he called into work because he had an accident in his pants while driving his geo metro : ) no more remarks out of him!

 

It was a joke...

Hopefully, this isn't a thread hijack. Are 1st Generation Prius models common in California? I rarely ever see them in Minnesota.

You would really want gas prices to go up that high per gallon? Those are some really twisted thoughts. Gas prices need to go down because this is getting out of control.

 

I got my second "do you have to plug it in?" today. It's funny, I never got that question with my Civic hybrid.

 

There are a lot of hybrid haters. They get extremely "sore" over the idea that others are driving a hybrid, I'm not sure why.

 

I suppose signs like this don't help:

"hybrid parking only"

 

Of late people have been coming up to me in parking lots for testimonials. No eye-rolling experiences yet. Sometimes being an early adopter pays off. Don't ask me about facebook stock tho...

 

when i was driving my old Prius, a guy I used to work with would call it a toy car. If he only saw the size of this one.

 

Anyone facing the gas prices you folks pay on Kauai would have to be interested in a car which regularly tops 50 MPG.

 

They didn't say they *wanted* the prices to go that high. Just that they'll be laughing harder at people driving gas guzzlers when it happens. We all want prices to go down of course.. the higher your mileage per gallon the less you're affected by the change but it's still what we all want.
