Exactly, I see it all the time, comes in, the disappears in 5-10 seconds. I believe it is telling me what a TERIFFIC driver I am !!!
Actually, I am not going to worry about it, more people will eventually experience this. If not, I will be able to claim extra benifits with my PIP. It should certainly appeal to a Socialist.
This is a really dumb question, so I apologize, but does red bar come on when you are driving around sunset or sunrise? I've noticed that when the sun is low on the horizon, and the car is oriented correctly, the sun strikes the display so that it kind of illuminated by the sun, turning the background a reddish color.
Now that you mention it, that was actually my first thought when I was told about it, but I am not really sure yet. The display is pretty deeply recessed, so the sunlight has to be pretty much at the horizon to reach it.
That happened to me, too - I spent hours reviewing the manual trying to figure out what it meant, until I realized it was sun... mine looks a pretty purple color!
Did a few doughnuts today ( slow ) to check out the theory of low reflective sunshine on the instrument cluster. That's it. Absolutely the cause of the reddish / purplish light-up. Thanks for all the inputs.
