Hi folks, I've done a bunch of searching on this but can't find anything conclusive...lots of info on the US models but not much on the Canadian (which look to have all different audio specs). Basic question is - does the base hatch support bluetooth audio? Looks like it has the 6.1" screen and supports BT phone but can't tell if it supports BT audio profile. Again, Canadian version is what I'm trying to find. Thanks! Dave
I can use my iPhone in blue tooth for music and for phone calls, I can also run my Ipod at the same time via usb. using the toggle s/w on the steering wheel moves thru, AM,FM, b/t, iPod. also the BT iPhone also comes up as Ipod if no iPod is hooked up via usb.
I don't believe the base model has the 6.1" DA system. If it's the same system as the one in the Prius c Two in the US, it should have BT streaming audio.
Alas no, no firm answer yet. I know that the base model in Canada does include the 6.1" system....and it does have BT phone for sure...I don't know if it includes BT audio for sure tho... Need some Canadian owners to chime in! D
I am about to pick up my new Prius next week. I took both the Prius c and the base model Prius liftback on several test drives. The base prius liftback does include BT audio streaming capability and the song names did show up on the display. During the test drive I was using an iPhone 3gs.
I drove a base 2012 over a week ago in Mississauga and one of the things we tested was audio over BT - it is supported definitely and it sounds great, in the base Prius audio setup.
Do you have an off hook switch on the steering wheel of your Prius? If so, you've got bluetooth. Push that button and the car will ask prompt you to start the pairing process. What kind of salesman sold that car to you without a proper presentation?!
Reviving this....pretty interesting that toyota.ca now lists BT audio as being available ONLY with the solar package (spec B). Based on the posts here, that seems pretty misleading to me. I took my chances based on the posts here and placed an order for a 2012 Blizzard White "base"...be here in a week! Can't wait to get it...be quite a different driving experience from my 2009 Mini Cooper S but looking forward to driving the "space car"
I can confirm that audio streamed through BT works on the Canadian base model! I can stream music/audio from my android and ipad
I've seen plenty of errors on toyota.ca throughout the years (it listed a locking glovebox for 2005 even though nothing has changed in the standard features list so why was it even touched from 2004?) I trust the brochure more than what's listed on the site.
