99' BMW 328 91,000miles I chose my other car for speed, cornering and pure fun. Based on who (me/wife) is working further from home, gets to drive the Prius. It's interesting to see how much I love my Prius, but at the same time, love (and maybe "psychologically" need) my BMW. I guess sometimes my practial side is overshadowed by my adrenaline side. And for those who know DC, everybody has a BMW. Apparently, I am a follower.
Gotta vote GM for my wife's Buick Regal. We drove it out to NE and back over the Christmas holiday. On the interstate, it really does drive well. I traded my Regal in for Priapus with almost 100k miles. Hopefully, in a couple years she will trade it in for a HyCam.
We have an '04 Camry and a '95 Corolla. The Prius will be physically replacing the Corolla, but is replacing the function of the Camry as a commuter vehicle and family car for a majority of the time.
I voted Honda, as hubby's car is an '04 Honda Accord. He's been seriously debating how much he could get for the car if he were to trade it in for a Prius. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets to drive my Prius more than me. He's certainly 'into' all the technogeek stuff it has. My current car is a '96 Saturn...awaiting delivery of my Prius in the next few weeks. So I won't have the Saturn for more than another month now, hopefully.
My primary vehicles: 2005 Prius and Trek 5200 Wife's primary vehicle: 2002 Echo Our vehicle: 1995 Mercury Mountaineer (used for trips only)
mine - soon to be gone '95 Saturn SL2 his - '94 Toyota truck (the little one) ours - '92 Chevy Astrovan with ~200k miles on it used for road trips and big haul jobs. We lived in it for a while.
'97 Toyota Paseo red convertible. Only year they made the convertible. Echo chassis, 1.5 L engine, always 35 MPG and, for my money, the biggest convertible bang for the buck ever sold here. Found it online in Chehalis, up near Dave in WA.
We have: '03 BMW Z4 - My wifes daily commuter... and our most fun car '99 Jeep G Cherokee - Extra car for my wife when the Z4 is too small, or bad weather '06 Prius- Daughter #1 (Christmas present ) '05 Jeep Liberty - Daughter #2 '05 Jeep G Cherokee - My car... used for towing, and mountain pass driving '06 Prius - Due mid January - My daily commuter to reduce milage with the SUV /Jim
Wow, that's a lot of cars. We just have the Prius and a 2002 Mazda MPV. The MPV is great, my wife drives it for car pools, camping, and all the stuff that she does that require her to haul around a bunch of stuff or a bunch of kids. I'd love a hybrid minivan or some sort of larger hybrid (not an SUV). We'll see what comes along, but the Mazda is here to stay for at least another 6 years. Who knows what'll be available in 6 years? -Roger
'98 Chrysler - great automobile 2002 Infiniti - nice 1957 Bentley - beautiful/classic 1996 Harley Sportster - no words can describe '04 Prius - perfect
'01 Honda Odyssey: wife's vehicle for busing 3 kids '98 BMW 540iA: my weekend car (I need to have certain driving fun...) and for short trip (which is bad for a Prius anyway, MPG-wise) My '05 Prius is my primary commuting vehicle.
Hey, I didn't see Hummer on the list of options in the poll... mike P.S. We have a 97 Civic, too. Sold the '96 Civic hatchback and the '03 Accord 4-dr when we got our 05 Prius -- meets the needs of a hatchback and a family car... Part of the deal with my wife was that we didn't want to make car payments on two cars at the same time.
1995 Ford Conversion Van Antiques Hauler 142,000 Mi 1996 Ford 17 Year Old's Ipod Hauler 145,000 1997 Ford Thunderbird Wife Hauler 111,000 2004 Toyota Sienna My Hauler 42,500 Waiting for one of the T-Birds to die & then will replace it with a 2006 Prius Pkg #7
I have a 1997 Ford F150 5.4L club cab long wheelbase - was gonna sell it, but nobody would pay a decent price - so I kept it. Right not my son is driving it until he can get a new tranny in his 1989 Mystand 5.0 Hubby drives a 2000 Saturn SC2, and we have a 1986 34' Pace Arrow RV decorating the driveway - too expensive to take out!! <_< My full time commuter car is a 2005 Prius - which has become the weekend car selected to run to the grocery store, or to the city or to....
Our '96 Subaru has become the family 'truck', used for hauling, terrible weather, and when the occasional instances of a second car are required. It will probably end it's life in a few years at the hands of one of my children.
It's getting traded on Monday when my 06' Prius comes in (did the paperwork and everything for the trade yesterday) but right now I have an 03' Acura TL Type S white diamond pearl/onyx leather with navi.
