My tax accountant is checking into the 2006 $3,150 credit. She just called me and is asking where she can find that on an IRS website. She can't seem to find it. She needs to not only know what the credit amount is BUT all the details. (I guess how it's suppose to be taken off or something) I'm not sure I just know said she needs it's from an IRS website not from a chat forum  I hope someone can help me help her! It would be much appreciated! Tracy
Might not be available untill the 2006 tax stuff is up and in place since you'll get it when you file in 2007.
Ok, she just called me back. Said she couldn't find it online BUT did find it on an updated paper she got. She says that they AMT won't affect me and I would get the tax credit
The IRS hasn't published the regulations yet. The most reliable estimate for the Prius credit is at ACEEE.org - Estimates of tax credits for 31 hybrid and diesel cars and light trucks. When the official credit amount is available, it will likely be available on Toyota.com - federal tax benefits.
