Other members of my family have Prii, however I noticed that when I locked or unlock my Prius C, there is no "noise", like any other car. Does your Prius C, not produce any noise when locking or unlocking?
What I am saying is that, like any other prius when you lock and unlock the car there is a beep or some type of noise. For the Prius C, I don't get that, and was wondering if that is the default.
I think that only the 3 and 4 with the smart key system have the beep. I have a 3 and it beeps when I lock and unlock the car.
So only the Prius C 3 and 4 have it? Can anyone confirm this? I have a C 2, and it doesn't beep. Could it been a option that was enabled/disabled by the dealer?
As far as I know, based on the other times this has come up on the forum, it is not supposed to have a sound, and isn't something that can enabled.
C 2: No beep. Just the mechanical sound of the locks locking or unlocking and a brief blink of the signal lights.
I have a C 2 no beep, just flash of lights. My Prius 3G 3 beeps and flashes. My Scion xB beeped and flashed also. I actually would prefer for it not to beep. Is there a way to disable beep on 3's and above? I would like my 3G to be disabled. Should I ask dealer?
There's a few pages of tables in the back of one of the 2 thicker manuals for the c, these tables list which options can be adjusted on the display nav screen and which can be adjusted only by hooking up to toyota's garage computer system. I think I recall that lock/unlock beeps were one of the things that could be changed by the service shop's computer hookup system. Check it out in your manual. the table has O's and --'s in the 2 rightmost columns.
I always though of that beep as a LG cell phone ringtone beep beep beep beep hey is that your phone? No I'm unlocking my Toyota!
