Hello all I am very new to the Prius world and have my friend / auto broker finding me a Prius. He just emailed me a Prius that will come up for auction. I bought a suburban from him no issues along with about 10 other people that I know. Its a 2011 Prius 3 and it looks like it may have nav which I think would give me Bluetooth audio stream for music correct ? I'm trying to determine if there any options that you guys (pros) can tell based on the following pics. I'll be in touch with my friend in the next week anyway but you guys will know more anyway. Also most vehicles have packages so is there any options that would have to be included if this does indeed have nav ? Thx all! Galaxy Nexus ? 2
If you know it's an '11 and that it's a model Three, then yes, I see it's got nav and yes, that would make it have BT audio streaming . Toyota Vehicles : Toyota Announces Prices for 2010 Prius / Toyota should help. The matrix was the same for the '10-'11 except the early '10s didn't have USB and don't think the early '10s had Safety Connect available either.
Addendum: On '10-'11 Priuses, you only got a touchscreen if you have nav, which also comes with solar roof or advanced technology package. I don't see a solar roof on that car, but the angle isn't great. The car's not a Prius (Roman numeral V)/Five as those aren't the 17" wheels. The pic where the screen is really zoomed out but it doesn't look like it's an aftermarket Rosen HU (http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii...-another-rosen-navigation-system-install.html). However, I'm not 100% certain as I only have a Gen 2 but have seen and test driven nav equipped Gen 3s before. http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii-2010-prius-main-forum/82748-my11-prius.html confirms the minimal changes to the '11s.
Thx all. I was looking into the optima hybrid as well but it appears most can only achieve 35MPG highway or so. I figure why not maximize everything.
Here are some simple things to help you along when just viewing pictures. Package 5 = 17" rims, leather interior (option of NAV = 6" (or so) screen) Package 4 = 15" rims, leather interior (option of moonroof and NAV) Package 3 = 15" rims, cloth interior (option of moonroof and NAV). Package 2 = 15" rims, cloth interior No Nav = just a radio. It is hardest to tell a 2 and 3 apart from pictures. Some 3's get port installed leather interior. I don't know if they leather wrap the steering wheel as well. I know the 4 gets Plasma cluster (a button for filtering out pollen and such). Check out this link for details http://priuschat.com/news/2010-prius-models-and-option-packages-priuschat-first Check out this photo for what the NAV looks like. Note the Navigation screen (6" or so). This tells you it is not a Package 2. It is a Package 3, 4, or 5. If these are cloth seats, then it is a package 3. If leather, it could be a 4 or 5 (or a 3 with port installed leather). Now in this photo shows the plasma cluster button. It is the button to the left of the A/C button (it is lit green, like the A/C button). Now, below is a non NAV dashboard
If it's an '11 it's a 4, three's didn't have leather, '11's don't have power seats. Er the interior looks like leather from here...
Lol this is kinda fun ha ha. Like playing clue Prius. I couldn't tell if it had leather either from the pics. I hope it does ! I will let everyone know soon as I hear back. Galaxy Nexus ? 2
I noticed that the steering wheel does not have the phone buttons on it. I think this means it doesn't have bluetooth.
If its a 3, it has Bluetooth. The buttons are there, just don't show up well in the pic since they're silver too.
