JDM Signal Mirrors

    So I accidentally swiped my driver side mirror backing into the garage. I figured now's the best time to upgrade my mirrors with the JDM signal mirrors.

    I was thinking of buying off eBay from MIT Accessories. Will I be breaking any California driving laws by having "too much light"?

    And let's say there is nothing I can salvage from my driver side mirror, what else would I need to order and where would be a good spot to buy from?

    No. You should be OK. It's not like having a strobe or blue lights in your mirrors. ;) Buy it from mitaccessories. You won't go wrong.

    The ebay item is just the mirror covers (the painted portion). If you damaged the rest of the mirror assembly, you will need to replace or repair that separately.

    You can find the part on sites like parts.com for half of what you would get charged @ the stealership.

    It's legal as long as the cruising light isn't blue. You're fine as it's 5500K white light.

    Thanks for the replies everyone.

    So I need to get the eBay item and then a mirror assembly and I should be set right? Is this pretty much the cheapest way to go?

    Hi slick415.
    I have ordered the exact mirrors you linked to, and they should be here in a couple more days.

    As others have stated about these mirrors, make sure you request the white cruising light (not blue). They also carry the blue. I verified before placing the order. Also, if you want it painted, let them know your color code. I did that after the purchase via an ebay message.

    The seller is very helpful and will respond quickly. I'm looking forward to having these installed soon.

    Hi all,
    Great thread and full of useful information. I am going to order from MIT as well, but I am concerned with the install. Can anyone recommend a place in northern VA or the DC metro area? If you are a good DIY and done that already, we can talk also. I am willing to drive up to 100 miles around DC for the install.

    Yes, depending on the damage. The assembly @ $153 is just the black portion(base) of the mirror. If you need the mirror itself, that is extra. Just order the pieces you really need to replace.
