Ordered my Prius C2 yesterday, 'spose to arrive in 9 days. Trading in a great Honda Civic Hybrid, the Prius better be good. I got 51.2 lifetime mpg on the Civic. Looking forward to the new technology of the Prius. I'm reading all I can here, a great resource. X
If you don't mind me asking, where did you go? I ordered a C2 in Anderson 2 weeks ago and they're saying the car won't show up until the 23rd.
for you guys who ordered the pc2, how did you do it? did you just go to the dealer and agreed to pay msrp( 20,800)? I want to order a pc2 also. thanks.
The price I agreed on is below MSRP, but greater than invoice...about 1/2 way actually. It was just about the best I could do since the cars are in high demand (and my negotiating skills are not so great). I called/visited several other dealerships with the quote from this one place, they wouldn't even bother talking once they saw the other price. Note: I negotiated without a trade-in, since I sold my other car outright. So many other people claim they paid a lower price, but get screwed on the trade in. At this point I have put down a deposit, and when the car comes in I still have to finalize the financing. I have a few other quotes in-hand (local credit union and PenFed) which should help aide in getting a lower rate when the car arrives.
There are a few ships on the way to Jacksonville. One is basically there right now. That one is the Indiana Highway. Then there are two more that are either west of or making their way through the panama canal and onward to Jacksonville. They are the Andromeda Leader and American Highway. Not sure how long it takes to get from Balboa (panama canal pacific side) to Jax, but I'd guess the Andromeda leader would be the one to hit Jax around next monday (5/14). See links to track these ships here: http://priuschat.com/forums/toyota-...ota-plug-in-ship-carriers-72.html#post1543220
I ordered mine in Easley. It is supposed to be here by the 14th, I took it to be delivered to me, not dockside. I am reading a lot and preparing, can't wait. We upstate folks ought to get together and compare notes after we get them. X
Update: Bad news. I am sick. My dealer called yesterday and said there was a screwup and another dealer has claim to my vehicle. I've never been so disappointed. I complained all the way up the chain but all they could do is promise me one on "special order" on the next shipment. I don't know how long, but I am considering cancelling for spite. Though with the demand, they wouldn't care a bit. I guess I'll try to wait some more. Bummer. X
they would care if you cancelled your order with them and went and bought from another dealership... Demand has nothing to do with that. It's if you cancelled and didn't buy at all that probably would bother them too much. I am so sorry! Seems like there should be something you could do!
