A Blizzard White drove by me this morning in Huntington Beach, with license plates "PLUG OFF" which made me smile
I had a pleasant commute this morning. Immediately after entering onto 101 North near Palo Alto I noticed the car ahead of me in the rightmost lane was a 2012 PiP. A short time later I, in my 2011 Volt, passed by a 2012 Volt with HOV stickers and a LEAF among other cars stopped in traffic as the two HOV lanes merged into one. LOL. Later the 2012 Volt driver waved as he passed me. Due to circumstances beyond my control I have been unable to plug in my car for the last 4 days. In very mixed city/highway driving I'm averaging 44.5 mpg over 180 miles with some use of the Volt's mountain mode to charge the battery when driving above 35 mph so I can drive silently and efficiently in slower stop-and-go traffic.
I finally saw one in the wild. I was at the Earnst and Young building in Downtown LA Yesterday and in the parking lot was a PIP parked next to a Leaf. I also saw one other Leaf and 1 Volt during my round trip drive. Noel
Saw another one in my neighborhood.. Wed 5/9, making a right onto Pioneer from Tustin Ranch. It was a silver one with, I think, a Tustin Toyota dealer plate on the front.. and I think it was an Advanced model, IIRC.
I saw one yesterday parked on Linda Vista Rd. - blue, couldn't make out the dealer name. I also got a "wow" an a thumbs up from a guy on a bicycle.
While on vacation in CA, last week, saw a Winter Gray with paper plates on Campbell Ave just West of 17 last Thursday. Who was it?:spy:
Earlier this week on 101S in Palo Alto, I passed, and then was passed by another Clearwater Blue PiP. Still had the Piercy Toyota paper plates on it. We gave eachother a big grin and a thumbs-up.
I saw my first one in Horsham, pa going north on Rt 611, it was a pretty blue. I didn't really want one till I saw it! It looks so good!
What exactly is FUUFNF an acronyn? I could probably figure it out since my wife is from NYC but just slightly curious.
I still haven't spotted PiP in the wild but several times when I have gone to charge my PiP at a public charger I have spotted several Volts Leafs.
My local dealer emailed that they had one, so I took a look today. $40k sticker price caught me off guard.
I've gone several times recently to a new public charger and have been surprised by all of the attention I've gathered. It is a very new thing to most people. It grabs a lot of attention (probably also because my car looks so nice... ). I've yet to run into anybody else charging their car. At a new local store that happened to install a car charger, several people said they'd never seem anyone use the charger before. One young guy in a pickup truck saw me and gave me a 'thumbs up' as if I was some kind of hero. It was kind of bizarre.
We have 3 PIPs at work in Irvine (and yes all from Diane Whitmire). Here are 2 hooked to a brand new- as of today - private charger!
PiP nirvana today! I used a Blink charger at the mall for the first time (most of the spots were taken by Car2go's, but one of the cords was able to reach my spot). When I came out, there was a second Pip charging next to me! Seaglass pearl w/ Mossy plates. I took a pic but I'm on my phone so will add it later
Somebody seriously needs to tell MVC to move the Car2Go fleet off their property. I'm ready to call. If I can't use the chargers, maybe I can't visit their mall. And for sure, the Car2Go "fleet" isn't attracting any customers.
It's not an acronym. Just sound out the letters and you'll know what it means... It should be obvious.
