I'm dying to see the reaction you guys would have to these: Not going to lie, I considered them for a split second.
LOL, it might have been alright back in the days when I was in high school or college. Just curious, is he able to control the lighting pattern or is it random?
ok. here is a million dollar idea that I will share with you guys. Instead of just lighting up all white, it lights up like an LED tv screen and this is what you see in your wheel..... only fitting for a slow hybrid.
you could probably make these on your own, led strips mounted to a circular frame bolt it down to some point of contact. Wire it to a brain or even a strobe module that blinks to music mounted in car.
Those would look truely Awesome on a Delorean. Just needs a Mr Fusion on the back to complete the effect.
so are most tints that are on cars. PNP HID kits, loud exhaust, blue LEDs, tv's on whild driving etc yet people still do them.:drum:
Yes, but with the exception of perhaps "loud exhaust" all those things are IMO infinitly more passive. Those lighted rims? Are like something out of Close Encounters. I expect tonal communication and Richard Dreyfus trying to board.... I think your only chance with the Police would be them being confused about what they just saw...once they figured out what it is...and that it could be ticketed...your getting pulled over. No way you "sneak" those past, at least not at night. I'm wondering also if there are specific laws governing lighted rims...
I haven't seen them, but it falls under laws regulating flashing lights and blue lights, although the light in the video isn't blue enough to be illegal per se.
Could argue that you were just making the car more visible from the side for safety reasons. Quote whatever law from 1927 requires side marker lights on every available surface.
