We are looking at a used 2010 Prius Hybred with 35,000 miles on it.

What should we be asking about the car beyond the ususal issues?

is there concern about the condition of the hybred battery? How do you know if it is in good shape?

Anythink else we should be looking into?

    thanks.

Probably buy a voltmeter and test the battery before they let it 'warm' up
When it was traded in, what specific warranty on the battery can you negotiate on the purchase.
Have them clear the battery fan of goop before delivery. Hair etc
I'm sure others will have more ideas

She's referring to the 12 volt for the 1st part.

As for the battery fan, see Luscious Garage | Blog | Prius battery cooling fan cleaning, P0A82 (yeah yeah, it's for the 2nd gen) and http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii...-up-atleast-3-taxis-i-know-8.html#post1451701. It's possible the battery fan could be clogged up somewhat if the owner had pets that rode around in the back.

Berea, I live in the same area as you. I purchased a 2010 Prius II 3 weeks ago and I think I know which 2010 Prius II you are talking about.

I suggest you bring it to an independent mechanic that has experience working with hybrids. I suggest Lusty Wrench in the Cedar-Lee area. Despite the silly name, the mechanics are top-notch.

As suggested by another member, you should have an inspection done by another shop that's familiar with the Prius--be it another Toyota dealer or independent shop. The only answers you'd expect from the dealer selling the car relate to how great a car it is. ;)

Tell the dealership to certify it ... then you'll get 12K BTB and 100K drivetrain.
