I need a rack to carry my bike, kayak, and SUP... not at the same time. Anyone have any advice on which to pick: Thule or Yakima? Which is more quiet under speed?

Oh no! This is like the Windows vs Mac debate.

Just make sure whatever you decide to get a model with the square tubs. Otherwise your attachments will not hold position. I dented my ruff because the rear rack rolled while loading my tandem kayak. H

It pretty much boils down to preference and how much you want to spend. The base Yakima system tends to to run less and can be configured to carry a lot. It's just a noisy bugger without the fairing though.

I am a new Prius owner and have been considering the WhispBar system (recently bought out by Yakima) for highest efficiency. Google it.

I went with the Yakima and faring, It works well for me. I have an awesome bike mount that actually locks to the crossbars as well as locking the front fork to the bike. They are from Rocky Mounts and work with Yakima or Thule. Give them a Google. Great quality.
