Not yet, but seeing how much plastic they used, im sure its coming soon. Rattles are in every car though, no matter the price.
The plastic over the top of the displays is flimsy and bounces especially on these Pittsburgh roads sheesh
Had one and I thought that it was dashboard too. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out where is this noise coming from. Last night I put a small piece of paper in between the windshield (right [passenger side] bottom corner) and the plastic cover of that pillar. This morning it seems that the noise had disappeared. Will see more today on the way back home, but so far so good. If I spotted the right place, then I'll just take that cover off later and will try to put something in between.
Driving the first two weeks in the C, I hear a whole bunch of noises that some even scared me. Some in the trunk, some by the glovebox, etc. SO FAR, all of them were just foreign objects that were rolling around. i.e. pens in glovebox, boxes in back etc. But Prius I guess are known to create noises like rattling. Best to find them and fix them. Many things to fix vibration or rattling.
It is my ONLY strong negative about this car. It has rattled like hell in the dash since the day I bought it. My previous car was a lowered Yaris on low profile tires and with 66k miles of that it didnt rattle this bad. Complete shite build quality. I drown it out with music. Everything else about the car is great, but more rattles than a Babies R' Us
found two push in pins under the speedometer panel that were not installed right reseated we will see tomorrow if that help.
Was playing with my dash in the garage all evening yesterday. Plastic cover of the windshield pillar seems not the only one rattling spot. Found couple more last night. 1. The plastic grill covering the windshield's air duct 2. The small gap in between two plastic pieces in the small pocket above the glove compartment. The gap right below the USB and AUX ports. This morning my ride was much better, but I guess I still have couple more spots to find. Keep looking
Thanks for posting these rattle locations. Might be good to have a thread (or sticky) listing common rattle areas...? How are you "fixing" these? Just small pieces of paper or a more permanent adjustment?
So far I am just putting small pieces of sponge. Once I'll find most of my locations I'll try put something more permanent.
