I don't know why someone would want to pay almost $50K for an SUV with a range of 100 miles. Toyota unveils electric SUV - May. 7, 2012
When you word it like that, no one in their right mind would buy one. However, the 100 mile range is not gas powered. It's electric powered. There's a price difference between the gas version and electric version. That price difference is considered the premium of alternative energy. The question now is how much are you willing to pay for not ever goto the gas station and pump gas ever again. If the price you're willing to pay is equal or greater than the price difference between the gas and EV version then Rav4 EV is worth it.
it will be cheaper to convert one ? $50K for 100 miles range. lol quite expensive. why Toyota don't make hybrid version for their other vehicles? like RAV4, Matrix, Sienna. etc.
