I just had a Encom E07 remote installed in my 2012 Prius V -3 and it works awesome. car starts and doors stay locked. Original fob still lets me in. Whats odd is that the car will shut off long before the 20 minute set time if the cabin temp comes up to where it was set and will start again as needed. A real gas saver as compared to those that run for the full time.
Geez, short of checking for an installed IED (not on an ignition timer), I could never think of a good application for a remote starter. (Read with tongue firmly planted in cheek.) Until your note.
And down here with temps in the 90s already, it'd be nice to get into a cooled car vs 140-deg after baking in the sun! Worse when we get into the 100+.
So what sort of price range was this? Does it in any way affect the proximity auto door unlock? the oem fob? anything else?
