I don't know about other places, but here in Mississippi some of the teenagers consider it fun to see how big of a door dent they can place into the side of your car. I purchased the side molding from PriusChat Shop. They might block some off the more innocent dings, but I don't think anything will stop the malicious ones. Here are some before and after pics.... The color matches perfectly. It didn't take as long as I had thought to put them on. About 45 minutes...most of that was cleaning and prepping the site. Great instructions included.
I bought sea glass - I installed one but I don't like contrast - the color is too light - doesn't match - Now what?
Was accidentally sent the wrong color (I knew the color was off) . . . later sent the correct "sea glass" molding - matches now.
That's interesting. I ordered the sea glass body side moldings from the PC Shop and they looked too light to me, too, so I returned them. I had assumed that the sea glass color was just too hard to match, since it seems to change color depending on whether it's in the sun or shade. Can you please post a picture or two?
I had the same problem with the Blizzard Pearl ones. Put them on and they were white, not Blizzard Pearl. Noticeable. I went to the RAV4 molding from Toyota which was definitely a color match but it is wider and wedge shaped and installation requires a bit of alignment with the cars angles because of it. Some discussion and pics here. http://priuschat.com/forums/toyota-prius-plug-in/106585-my-new-pip-rav4-side-molding-4.html
If you google Sea Glass Pearl - comes up either #783 and/or #781. The correct color is #781 - PC Shop corrected it and now sells the #781. I attached a picture of both #783 and #781 against the my car - the #781 matches well. I have not completed installation - will post pictures later.
