This is the best stuff that I've used on black paint. I used it on my neighbors black 91 Lexus LS400 & I was shocked at how great the tired looking paint was after I finished.

Black looks great when clean but it shows swirl marks so easy & is a PITA to keep looking good, plus it can be so much hotter in the summer. I had a new 88 MR2 in black & that was the first & last black car I will ever own. :lol:

 

I give respect to the Black Nights who brave the most aggravating of colors. Black is like the supermodel girlfriend. It's beautiful to look at but a nightmare to maintain.

I wish you well in your crusade but alas I am joining the ranks of the Blizzard Brigade! *evil grin*

I'm sorry, but I think having the "leader" of the Black Knight brigade simultaneouly be someone who owns a White Blizzard Pearl is inappropriate.

I mean, how are we suppose to trust you?

When the dust starts to cling on thick? When the swirl marks start to show up? How do we know you aren't running back to your Blizzard Pearl?

A Blizzard Pearl that figures most prominently in your own Avator picture I might add...

Yes!!! Just ordered one today... should get it in a couple of days. Woo hoo!! It was a tough decision between black and that new nautical blue, but black won out.

And call me crazy, but I've owned black cars before, and they look just as dirty as a freaking blue car when they are dirty. In fact, I think my black cars look BETTER dirty than your average red or blue car (white is the WORST!!). Maybe that's just because they look so much better in the first place :cheer2:

 

I FEEL YOUR PAIN!!!! Now you will NEVER be able to ignore it. Kids and bikes are the killers in my family. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DON"T RUN THE BIKE INTO THE CAR WHEN YOU TAKE IT OUT OF THE GARAGE!!!

 

Anyone have a solution for wiping off pollen and dust from a clean surface? I spend an hour or so washing and waxing only to have pollen all over car by lunch the next day. I've tried wiping off with super soft border free towels but the pollen and dust seems to stick to car by static?

 

If it is just pollen then a California Car Duster works well. You just need to be careful not to use it to wipe off dirt or road grime, because of the risk that whatever it captures scratching the paint elsewhere.

I've heard of California Duster, done up to a point and never when there's dirt on the car. Personally, I'm leery of putting that to black paint.

Also, try Zaino Z-6 after washing. Its antistatic properties are supposed to reduce dust pickup.

Around here, we can be relatively dust free for up to a week after washing. Once in a while when there's some construction nearby, I get dust collected on the black paint immediately after washing/drying. I just deal with it for one week until I can wash again.
