I wanted to connect my iPhone for voice/music and my (work) Blackberry for internet - but I can't find a way to have them both connected at the same time. Is there any way to trick it into working?

Maybe wire one and BT the other. I have both my iPad and iPhone connected, but they won't both connect simultaneously via BT. I haven't tried hardwiring one or the other via the usb cable, but there's no reason it shouldn't work.

The reason I want to use the BB for internet is because it works over BT. My BB phone number forwards to the iPhone.

I have been plugging in the iPhone via USB when I need traffic, but not bothering with it most of the time. I have unlimited data on both, so it's just the laziness factor :)

I have my Android phone and iPad both connected by BT simultaneously with no problem. Just did the normal setup of both devices and everything works.

I'll have to try this in my Base model.... I don't think it gives me the option of both phone on bluetooth. I believe it's an either/or choice.

My wife and I both have iPhones, and both are connected to the car via bluetooth.

As I understand it, an iPhone can provide your car with an Internet connection via BlueTooth; you just need to set it up as a Mobile Hotspot. But connecting via USB would be simpler.

Hmm, I will have to play with it some more. I can't do the mobile hotspot because I'll lose my unlimited data plan.

The Bluetooth setup menu allows to pick a paired device and specify what it is being used for. So you should be able to pick your blackberry and tell it to connect for Internet, and then select the iPhone and tell it to connect for Bluetooth Audio and Phone usage.

That is what I was hoping, but when I tried to connect the bb, it said "iPhone will be disconnected" - hopefully it's just an order of operations thing. I should have more time tonight.

I think you can have two devices paired at the same time, but one for audio and one for phone... hmmm.

I guess that in the Advanced system the BT connections are a little more transparent. We actually have two iPhones and two iPads connected - or maybe a better way to describe it is that they are all "registered" via BT. A few times all four have been in the car at the same time. But I am not sure how the system decides which device to recognize. It's clear, though, that in my very limited experiences so far only one device gets top billing at any given time. But that doesn't mean that the other(s) aren't somehow being monitored in the background.

    I solved the mystery.

It seems that only one device can be connected for each of phone, music, and internet at a time. Multiple devices can be paired, but only one can be active for each.

My Blackberry will only connect for internet IF it's also connected for phone. (Message is: "Connecting BlackBerry 9650 for Internet requires a phone connection.")

I was able to have the BB connected for phone and internet, and the iPhone for music. Unfortunately having the iPhone connected for phone is more important than having the BB for internet.

I don't know if this is a limitation of my Blackberry model or if that's just the way it is.
