I have a two week old 2012 Prius and it was working fine before, except for the occaisonal hang-up, but now it won't play at all. Just says it's "buffering" and "retrieving song list".
Are you using an iPhone with an official Apple (or Belkin) cable? A service bulletin came out and said that there is an issue with data rates if you have a knock-off cable. Also, try and reboot your phone. Here are instructions for an iPhone: - Reset the iPhone by holding the sleep/wake button at the top right of the device and the home button at the bottom center of the face at the same time. - Hold them both until you see the screen go black. In some cases, you may need to keep holding them even after the red power off slider appears. If it does, just keep holding it. - Wait until the white Apple logo appears. - When this happens, you can let go - the iPhone is rebooting. Good Luck!!!
iPhone 4 with BT, no cable. I'll try the reboot. The car seems to sync up with the phone fine though. But I'll give it a shot.
I can get Pandora to work, but the sound quality is horrible (even with the highest quality turned on.) I would never use it, due to the fact that it sounds like AM radio. -Sam
Ok, the reset didn't work. But what finally seemed to work, is i started up the actual pandora app on my phone (not entune). Paused it, went back to the home screen. This morning when i got in the car it started playing right away. BUT... i'm still lucky if it doesn't hang up after the first song. Then I'll change stations and it will play another song. I'm REAL lucky if it will actually play a few songs in a row.
I'll give it a shot. But if I plug in, do i have to turn off BT? Or will it figure it out automatically? Today i got a phone call while listening to pandora. On my phone i chose "iphone" instead of car multimedia so I could just talk on the phone. Started talking, and then a few seconds later pandora was playing on my phone over my conversation. Had to turn the car to Satellite to get it to stop.
If I am listening to something, usually podcasts via my iphone (usb) and I get a call, the call will come through the car speakers and shut off the podcast. Once I hang up it will automatically go back to the podcast. When I first connect via the usb, the car will ask if I want to receive phone calls on the screen. I think once I say Yes it also tells me that it will use the phone for internet. I never turn BT off!
Which phones are compatible with Toyota Entune™? Toyota Entune™ is compatible with a wide range of mobile phones. Most smartphones with a data plan are compatible, including iPhone® [6], Android™ and Blackberry®. Go to Toyota.com - Connect for a list of compatible phones or to test your phone’s compatibility.
My phone is compatible because it has connected to pandora. It either takes a very long time and then ultimately doesn't connect, or it eventually does connect and I get about 10 seconds of music before it loses the connection. So it is not a compatibility issue, but just that entune doesn't work.
I am running a iPhone 4 with IOS 5.0.1 Jailbroken. It connects with either Bluetooth or my cheep eBay USB cable. Absolutely zero problems. I can run Pandora on my phone or on the JBL 7.1 system. Both function the same. The only thing I can think of why my phone works flawless with my car is the IOS and/or it being Jailbroken. I was so scared reading all the issues others are having so I was not expecting my phone to work worth a damn with my car but the big surprise was when I tried it and I was very happy Mike
