What do you use that empty slot behind the steering wheel for?

My police scanner is going up there. Might keep some cashews up there for an upscale snack.

 

I store my sunglasses in that little slot.
It's easy to reach them when I need them and put them away when I park.

I keep my sunglasses there when I'm not driving. Too afraid to store anything there while I'm driving. If I have to make a sudden stop, I wouldn't want something flying back into my face.

 

I usually put the driver in the empty slot behind the steering wheel.

 

I usually put a pen and sunglasses there. I wish Toyota just make a Garmin or iPhone holder there instead.

I think if you made a sudden stop it would go into the windshield not your face, that is why they have airbags so you dont go into steering wheel, now if you made a quick start then it might go in your face but I dont think the C and do that haha.

We're using this area to start accumulating our collection of dust. I'm pretty sure that this will not pose any safety issues in the event of an accident.

Really, I have no idea.. I had originally thought to keep a pen there, but that's probably not the best place to keep a pen on a hot summer day..

 

Many are concerned about a pen leaking from the heat. Good call. A pencil, though, may be just the solution. The right technology for the right job, just like the prius c.

 

Pens, parking lot tickets and id badges (faced downwards).

 

My garage door opener fits fairly well in the small slot to the right. I don't use the bigger opening for anything yet.

 

sunglasses and my security strip for the complex gate. they want us to attach it to the dashboard but eff that! not in my new car! it works just fine in that slot

 

I put my sunglasses in the big slot and my little garage opener in the small slot.

 

I saw on one of the japan aqua accessory sites that there are a version of these trays with covers. i.e. they are enclosed which would be nice, on my list to get someday.

 

Only in Power mode with the turbo jet and nitrous would that be a problem during accelaration. (ex: racing for pinks) Using the Prius massive brake system to it's fullest extent may force the sunglasses into the dash material permanently. There is the danger of random loose objects in a high G turn or crash.

 

I put my french fries in the larger slot and my ketchup in the small slot.... I'm pretty sure that's what it was designed for.

 

That's where I put the little green dinosaur mascot my kids selected for the car.

 

Charlie Brown hangs out in there on mine. Not really sure where he came from but I think he has been in my last 6 cars or so.
