Looking for a Prius c Four - Magnetic Gray Metallic - in tri-state area. Local dealer tells me they can only order it and have no idea when it will come in (? months ?). Apparently, they do a search and they say that there are a few out there (but they won't attempt to get them). I've searched many of the local inventories, however does anyone know how to do a broader search for the vehicle (to include many dealers)? The Toyota website is not helpful - as it doesn't even allow one to pick the color magnetic gray metallic for the four.
Have you tried buyatoyota.com? I believe this will show vehicles in your area, but not sure how to tell which dealer has the vehicle. Looks like the magnetic grey is a search option on that site. If you are working with a specific dealer, they may not be able to trade with another dealer just yet. Most dealers are trying to sell what they have allocated.
Have already tried buyatoyota.com. I'm pretty sure it only checks 5 local dealers - whom I have already contacted (one had told me that what I'm looking for is out there - obviously won't tell me where). The site doesn't have the model four with magnetic gray metallic color. Also no matter what model I put in, it just tells me the local dealer (same one) each time.
Make a list of the dealers in the area and start calling. If you put a deposit down, chances are they'll look harder. We were told by one dealer that my car wasn't out there and we'd have to order it and wait 60-90 days. We called a dozen other dealers, put deposits down at two of them, and within a week I had the exact car that I wanted (they also found two in the color choices I would have settled for). Just keep calling, don't be afraid to call places that are 45-60 minutes (or more) from where you are.
It's a little bit further, but cars.com shows a Magnetic Gray Four at Milham Ford Toyota Scion in Easton, PA.
ftl: Thanks for the info. Almost perfect and would have gone out there to get it. Only thing is that the vehicle in PA. has a sunroof - which we really don't want. Appreciate your efforts. I guess we'll wait until more come out.
