Has anyone received a CA Green HOV Sticker yet?

$.02: The left bumper makes a lot of sense because I often see police (typically motorcycles) sitting in the left shoulder watching cars go along the lane... Although they might catch your front driver's side sticker as you approach, they might have a harder time seeing your rear right bumper sticker if another car is right behind you. In that case, the left rear side sticker would be the easiest for the officer to see.

 

Day 14 (from day I sent in app) and my STICKERS ARE HERE!! #546 . . . the main reason I got this car . . . 10 months without a "valid sticker" . . . I'm happy today!

 

That's what I missed - the illustration showing where the sticker should be placed. I placed it on the side instead of to the front of the car. Oh well. I think most of the CHP I ran by always do a drive by on the side first and come from behind.

 

I think that a CHP officer is going to immediately look for a green sticker, without regard to the exact placement of it, if he/she spots a Prius being driven solo in an HOV lane. He/she has plenty to do without making any unecessary traffic stops, especially considering the fact that in a lot of cases this kind of enforcement means both the CHP unit and the offender have to cross multiple lanes of traffic to reach a safe place to stop.

 

UPDATE 4/25: $8 check has been cleared on 4/25! So sticker should be any day now!

 

My stickers arrived in the mail just a few days after the check cleared... Stand-by!

 

Happy days are back. It's been a long ten months but #620 arrived today! Mailed paperwork 4/16 and check wasn't cashed as of this morning but I will be washing the car tomorrow morning:rockon:

 

I picked up my Prius on 3/22 and still haven't received my plates. I did receive the pink slip today so I know they got my address correct. I noticed in this thread some people mentioned they picked up their plates at the dealership--is this standard or are they usually mailed from the DMV? I am tired of waiting to mail my application for green stickers!

You can probably mail the application now that you have title. The pink slip should indicate your lic plate #? If so then you are good to go.

 

Funny...I looked for the plate number on the pink slip earlier and didn't see it, but now that you mentioned it I checked again and there it is! Thanks for the tip,

Once the license plate number is assigned and you are told what it is, you are good to go with the HOV decals; you don't have to wait for the actual plates.

 

Don't forget to include the $8 check with your application!!!!

DMV managed to screw up my green sticker application!!! Outsource!!!

I don't know how they managed screw up my application.

Today I received a reply with my application indicated the vehicle must be in my name and I have to wait to receive a valid registration card!!!!

Wth?!?!?! Are these guys serious???? I received the plate along with the registration card in mail on 4/14. I mailed them on on 4/16. Even the registration card said "Date Issued - 4/13/2012".

The application has date stamp of 4/18/2012. Did they even bother to check their half billion dollars system they purchased?????!!!!!????

is it possible for me to receive a plate and registration without my name on the ownership? Even the registration card has my name under registration owner!

I just don't see how they mess it up!!! I think DMV should be outsourced!!!

Sorry about the rant! my PIP value just drop to $24,000.

 

Sent in my application on 4/20 and got my stickers today, 4/28. Looking forward to using them for commute into SF next week!

Maybe double-check that you entered your VIN correctly on the form? If it was off by even one number or letter, it would not show in their computer.

 

Dealers supposedly have 30 days to submit registration info to DMV, after which they are actually fined by DMV for being late.

 

It took me 14 days after submitting my application. I received the CA $1,500 rebate check the following day, which is just coincidental since the applications are processed by two different groups.

I really wish that was the case then I would not be so upset.

I typed in my VIN but handwritten my license plate number. I triple checked everything.

Will call DMV's director and ask what's going on!

If you didn't do it the first time, include a copy of your registration card. Sometimes it takes a couple tries to get it through! But there's no limit to how many times you can try!

 

I just got my green sticker today! I sent in on 4/20/11, DMV received on 4/23/11. It takes about 1 week. I can't wait to drive solo on carpool lane.
