I am wondering, if 06 has the ability to disable the passenger side airbag. I know that 04 and 05 cannot. At least I am not aware of it. Most of the newer cars these days have the function to disable or automatically disable if the passenger's weight doesn't meet the threshold.
I believe the '06 has a sensor that can tell if the passenger is an adult. If it doesn't sense that the occupant is an adult, it disables the airbag.
The '06 disables the right front seat airbag automatically so that it will not deploy with a child in front... but it will deploy with an adult. I forget the weight threshold. /Jim
