Question about dealer discount

    A local dealer sent me an email about 2500 discount on prius two valid before 4/30. Do you think they can not make the discount after that?

    They might be trying to meet sales quotas, which run month-to-month.

    So in this case, if they get their quota by selling the car(s) to someone else, then they might not be motivated to discount again until the end of *next* month, and only if they are still behind in sales.

    Is that $2500 off the MSRP?

    If it is, it sounds like a dang hot deal to me! My local jerks will only offer me ~$500 off MSRP so I'm planning on driving 850 miles to get $1600 off.

    They are trying to put more deals together before the end of the month. End of the month is always a great time to go car shopping. Can they do the same deal may 1? Probably, but why put off until tomorrow what can be bought today. ;)

    It's 2576 off msrp 24985, which will be 22408 total.
    I am wondering on ford focus and Prius.

    Mine....Black, Prius II was $22988($1997 off $24985) with 90 days before the first payment. I also have a Tacoma PreRunner that only gets 20 combined and getting the Prius will save $150 + a month on gas. My wife's commute is 44 miles round trip.......Rich P.S. Mine was bought last weekend with the "Sale Ends 4/30/2012......"

    I just find it easier to get a deal at the end of the month where some dealers are possibly desperate.
