Hi folk's- I wanted to share a couple photo's of my view since the snow has fallen...enjoy! I know it's not Prius related, but thought someone might enjoy them.
Thank you I guess seeing beautiful nature makes me feel even better about driving a green vehicle, makes me feel like I am helping preserve it.
Fred's House of Pancakes - for everything not-Prius-related. It's kind of like the "other" category for PC. http://priuschat.com/Fred-s-House-of-Pancakes-f3.html BTW, maggiedd, love the new avatar, but more about that in FHOP.
Beautiful! Wish I were there. Wish I were in Mammoth actually, with the 3+ feet of snow they got the other day.
I'll trade you- LOL OC livin for my place in Tollhouse hahaha And yes, I get teased all the time since I live in Tollhouse, but I DO make the BEST chocolate Chip cookies!!
I love the mountains. Looking forward to retiring and seeing ALL the beauty the US holds. I think I'll start a thread about people who travel all over the world yet see very little of the beauty here.
LOL, no thanks! I have no desire to move from here; just like to head to the mountains for a weekend of snowboarding. Hopefully SoCal will get a storm or 2 in the next few months, I'd like to see snow on the local mountains from afar again. I love standing on the sand at the beach in the winter, looking east towards the mountains, and seeing whitecapped peaks.
Darn! haha! I agree with you- I love So-Cal- and hope to return some day. Schmika- I totally agree with you- this country has so much to see, and so many people rarely get to see it- or they travel over seas before they do in their home country... I have been all over the west coast, and cannot wait to see the east coast... was thinkin' since I have the Prius that maybe a road trip would be fun, but that is a lot of driving!!
And, here in Vermont, I love standing on the snow on the driveway in the winter, looking west toward California and seeing the sand I am spreading on my drive.
LOL!! You can pretend for a moment that you're at the beach on a balmy summer day. I'm heading to the beach for lunch today...I heard that there are some swells coming from a storm near Hawaii and Huntington Beach expects some waves in the 13-15 foot range. That should be something worth seeing. (I work in HB) Especially considering that when I was in Hawaii in September the waves at Sunset Beach were in the 3-5 foot range. I wanna see big waves already!
You can take a short break here in S/W Ohio, I'll show you around. Quite pretty in the foothills of the Appalachians.
It's kinda hard to tell from the shore with no surfers out there to help measure approx. wave height, but I'm guessing the waves were in the 10-foot range. Biggest I've ever seen them at the Huntington Beach Pier and at the bluffs. Here's a pic of nearby Seal Beach I found online: Kinda gives you a better idea of the size of the waves when you compare them to a surfer who you can figure is at least 5 feet tall. Why didn't I remember to bring my camera with me today? Grrr. The cameraphone pics came out rather crappy.
