I know it's a minor thing...just thought I'd show it anyway. I wasn't a fan of the baby blue shift knob, picked up this older one on eBay for 25 bucks, a bit better color match...not sure what year they stopped using this one.
That's an interesting question Dave...because I didn't realize the original one did...now a question to you Dave...is the OG one backlit with lights on ? Clearly I didnt pay very close attention, I'll let you know tonight if the grey one lights up.
I hope someone comes out with a carbon fiber one since I plan on putting the carbon fiber dash kit in once I get it.
I always leave my lights on. My own version of daytime running lights. So for me, yes, it is backlit when the lights are on. I gotta lock on a grey one and he showed me that when it's removed and a flashlight is shown from below, you can see the drive position indicators. Cool!! I'm not a fan of the blue either.
After a closer look there's a tiny LED mounted just below the shift shaft in the dash opening, now I realize why the bottom of the knob was left clear...so yes it's slightly back lit.
