Does anyone know the details of this recall? I'm taking my car on a road trip this weekend but am having second thoughts. 2012 Toyota Prius V The Problem: Weakened actuators in the Prius V’s exhaust-heat recovery system can cause engine coolants in the Prius V to leak, causing the hybrid’s warning light to turn, making the car run in safe mode. The Fix: Toyota will replace the actuators free of charge. Number of Vehicles Potentially Affected: About 20,000 units. Sad I can't post an URL buy found it on a motor trend article dated 4/16.
There are already these threads on this: http://priuschat.com/forums/prius-v-care-maintenance-troubleshooting/107396-recall-prius-v.html http://priuschat.com/forums/prius-v...ta-correct-flaw-in-prius-exhaust-systems.html
I wouldn't worry about it for a roadtrip this weekend. We haven't seen widespread threads on the issue. More than likely, they found and issue in one of their durability vehicles and are nipping the problem in the bud.
Plus, there is a lookup through the Toyota site to see if your car has any service requirements due to TSBs. I got my car in Jan 28th and I checked, and don't have a TSB note.
