Spent the morning swapping out the stock springs for a set of Tein lowering springs along with a TRD rear sway bar. A few weeks ago I mounted the 17" Moda MD10 wheels. Handling in the Prius is much improved and the stance is looking much better. +1
Looks nice. Be sure to get an alignment immediately and again in 3 months. The alignment changes quite a bit as it settles. MB860 ? 2
Overall since upgrading to the 17" wheels, I've seen a drop in mpg of -4 mpg, after two fillups. Was averaging 48.5 according to the dashboard. Now we average 44.5 mpg. Not bad, I'll take the hit, enjoying the new stance and much improved handling.
Looks great. Gonna be installing my springs tomorrow. Not looking foward to removing the lower windshield trim
I had mine done as well and did not need any aligment at all. It all depends on how much the new lower springs drop you car. I installed Tanabe max comfort and it dropped the car only 1.0" in front and 1.1" back. I have Momo New 17" with Michelin LRR tires and I have seen a drop in MPGs. I use to get 56 MPG and now I'm seeing about 53. I was told that I need to wait for the tires to break in to start seeing better mileage. I forgot to tell you, nice look. You can see mine in the photo section titled " The transformation"
I did not do it before and after. I had the car inspected after the installation was completed. I was a little bit nervous and had it checked at the dealer, since I have the maintenence package included and they also said that the car was still per factory specs.
