Mine was surprised and said that it's expensive to repair. I think I will ask for a comparison to a regular 2012 Prius. I do live in a high vehicle theft neighborhood (although I think the Accord/Civic usually top that list!), but I don't think they are allowed to factor that in anymore.

While it looks like most people's went up, mine went significantly down. Changing from my 2004 Prius to the 2012 Plug in resulted in a $151 decrease for the 6 month period.

TY, pretty good rates but still could not beat Geico.

    USAA - about $20/year more going from a 2008 Prius to a 2012 PIP.

The insurance price quote I got today for the pip is about 100 more per 6 month period, than my existing prius.

If for some reason I keep both cars (which is doubtful), I would pay 50 dollars less because of the multi-car discount.

My PiP with AAA (CSAA) jumped up $250 over 12 months replacing a 2002 1st Gen Prius (2002) worth only $5-6k. I kind of expected with a new car.

    Revised from Above:
Well, I did the actual adding on the new PIP to my insurance policy, and tonight I finally had time to look at the email- and for some strange reason- the insurance id card said I had a Camry Hybrid - Hahahaha- they said the person made an error in inputting the information-

So, got that all resolved, my policy only went up about 22 dollars per 6 month period- and the insurance id card says it is a Prius, but the info that the Insurance company has on record says it is a Prius PHV :)

    Finally got a 6 month renewal from State Farm;

this includes multi car, multi line and accident free discounts

premium for 2006 Gen II was $357

    not too bad....

I'm very happy with State Farm. I've unfortunately had to file claims with them, and they were fast, friendly, and generous with their payout.

Strange, I have priced everyone and Mercury was about $150 per 6 months the cheapest out there.

    I pay $900 for 6 months for a 2012 PiP and a 2009 Lexus is 250.

I have Allstate. Switched from AAA to Allstate after I traded my Corolla in for the PIP. My premium for a year is $1,186.85. With AAA I had $2000.00 deductible. But because Toyota Financial requires $1000.00 deductible I now have that. AAA Quote was $770.00 for six months with the $1000.00 deducible.

This insurance pricing thing is so subjective. We all have different driving records, different year and model cars we WERE insuring, and different zip codes, etc.
When I added my 2011 a year or so ago, it jumped $300 a year from the 2007 I had. But, when I went from the 2011 to the new PHEV 2012, it went down $15 a year.
If it increases, shop. I have Mercury and have a great agent who I trust and adore.. she is always looking out for me.

I had AAA for 5 years and nobody could beat their price, until I got my Pip. Go figure!

I have Motorist Mutual and the liability portions went down by about 20%, the uninsured motorists stayed the same and collision went up by almost twice over my 2005 Accord.

Switched back to AAA. didn't like the fact Allstate jacked up my rates by $400.00 a year after two months with them. And correction to AAA insurance not $770.00, $707.70 per six months
