We’re coming up on a momentous occasion. My 2012 is about due for its first fill up. I’m the kind that reads the owner manual cover to cover so I know that I should be prompted to enter the gasoline price. I’m assuming that’s the price per gallon and not the total price of the fill up. Sound right to you gen 3 veterans? Thanks …Mudshark
On my mdl II I have to cycle thru the system and settings to put in the price of gas. Mine doesnt ask me to.
I just got my Prius II on Monday and my gas gauge hasn't budged. Though I also read that it should prompt me. I too am in Ohio. Ryan iPad
Ryan if by Prius II you mean a 2011 (which is a Gen III, as opposed to a Gen II), on Monday your gas gauge shouldn't budge for a long, happy time. Enjoy your car! As I found out for the first time today when you put in a significant amount of gas (I think the manual says something like at least 4 gallons) when you start the car the prompt will come up for (slightly paraphrased): "Gas? Wow! Been a long time! How much did that cost you??" But you have to be quick to start entering the info. Or, as "tach18k" alluded to, then you need to go into the "disp" push button marathon to get to "settings" to manually enter the price (per gallon). Enjoy! ...Mudshark
Just put gas in my Prius 3 today for the first time. Still breaking her in, picked her up on April 7th. Still, very happy with 46 miles per gallon! Love this car!
After you enter the price, every time you drive the car it will tell you how much you spent for gas on that trip. Talk about a nag.
Just got the P3.3 yesterday, so we will have about 2 weeks, if not more (bigger tank) than the PC.2 I just filled the PC.2 two days ago and it did prompt me to adjust fuel price, but I was not expecting it to....so it came and went. With the C is was only a matter of a 5-7 second window of opportunity. So I will know for next time, but this time i just went into the screen and adjusted. Maybe took 1 minute longer.
I -think- the fuel price thing is a 2012 item added. Don't know for sure, I'm still driving an obsolete Prius.
It would be nice if they put it in the entune app. This way you don't have to screw around with the DISP button. Just a thought!
Ya, would be much nicer to just hit the numbers on a keypad. We will probably see that in a 2013 or 2014.
Actually that can be kind of fun at times. The first time I put gas in I cashed in all our "fuelperks" at Giant Eagle and filled all the cars. I then plugged in the honest truth price per gallon of $.56. Next day after the drive to work it said: Distance: 11 miles Time: 25 minutes Consumption: 56 mpg Cost: $0.10 Made my morning. ...Mudshark
