I am trying to get "the definitive" answer on hybrid battery warranties. I think in California, it is 10 years or 150,000 miles. Some other states have this as well. I live in Washington state . Thanks for your help.
Go to the dealer that you bought the car from and ask for a signed paper with battery warranty terms. That would be the most definitive way to know for sure. Hope this helps.
Off of Toyota Site: "Hybrid-related components, including the HV battery, battery control module, hybrid control module and inverter with converter, are covered for 8 years/100,000 miles. The HV battery may have longer coverage under emissions warranty. Refer to applicable Owner’s Warranty Information booklet for details." I'll checkout my Owner's Warranty Information booklet tomorrow.
It's best to the check the warranty booklet for the correct answer, esp. for the Prius c. Hopefully a Prius c owner can chime in.

Bummer. I guess this is another way Toyota was able to keep the cost down. For those in CARB states, the 10 year/150K mile HV battery and 15 year/150K mile emissions warranty on the liftback (not the c) might be worth the extra money.
Washington and Pennsylvania are partial CARB states, so do not get the longer CA battery warranty on any Prius version. The warranty booklet calls these two states out as a separate category.
By qualifying for PZ-ATV, Toyota could get the Yellow stickers, which sold cars. PZ-ATV required the 150,000/10 warranty. Now that the Yellow stickers are expired, what good does it do Toyota to go for PZ-ATV qualification?
It is probably me who you are referring to. The lady that did my financing said (and circled a warranty style paper) showing 10/150k for the battery warranty. I thought it was odd, but other than casually saying that I thought it was only 8y/100k, I didn't really question her. When I looked over everything, I didn't see any extra charges, so I just figured I was misinformed. I've since looked at the actual warranty and it is the standard 8y/100k. I also can't find the paper she circled that showed the 10y/150k in any any of the paper work...hmmm...I hope she was just misinformed and not intentionally misrepresentating the facts. I'm not going to make a big deal out of it, but I might call her tomorrow and make sure she's aware of the actual length of the warranty.

Oregon is a CARB state. Our 2010 Prius has a 150,000 mile / 10 year warranty. I don't know why the Prius C doesn't have the same warranty in CARB states.
To cut costs and/or what JimboPalmer suggests? The c is a new model. Toyota may not have needed to see the need to carry on w/the precedent set by previous model years of Prius liftbacks since there were none of the c.
