I am not sure what this is worth since I haven't used a charge point charger myself. But since this is new territory for me and probably for a lot of other people, I thought it'd be worth posting.

They are giving away free charge point cards for Earth Day from now till April 22nd.

I have used Charge Point Stations, and they are great (especially the ones that are free)- do you know if this free card will be different from a charge point card that has already been received prior to this Limited edition charge point card that commemorates Earth Day?

Yup, I just ordered one like 2 weeks ago. They're $5.00 if I recall.

For those who havent "bought" one yet, definitely get one now while its free.

I registered, but I totally checked out thier site and nowhere is cost spelled out. I am always wary of any business that chooses to just glide nonchalontly ?? by when it comes to price. Even worse are the snobs that get uptight when one discusses price. (Spell checker should still be on this site, I cannot find it)

I believe they revenue share for the non-free stations. On their map set a min price of $0.01 and the map will show the pay stations. Hover over the details and it will show the rates (per day or whatever).

Seeing as how there are only THREE of their stations in our entire county, I don't think I'll be going that far out of my way to visit any one of them. The three all show "free", though.

There seems to be no other obligation other than to register, so give them a throwaway e-mail if necessary.

Lots cheaper that a San Francisco parking meter space. Get the free card, because you never know when you'll need the parking space.

ChargePoint has cool, configurable features. It can text or email you when the charge is complete, when an error occurs, and (my favorite), if some SOB disconnects the charger from your car. Better than a car alarm!

Ok... SO here is my experience... I called to complain about the fact that I just bought 2 cards and would like a credit for the cost of the cards. The first guy I spoke with was from india and could not understand anything. I was getting frustrated until i asked to speak to a manager. He then transferred me to someone in california. I proceeded to tell him that I just bought 2 cards and before i could ask for a refund he said that he would refund me my money for the cards. So he was on the ball. The guy's name is Preston and he was extremly nice. If you need his direct number it is 408-841-4564.

Also called Chargepoint, got India. Told him we just purchased a $5 card, and he refunded the $5, keeping the deposit intact. Also signed up for the free, commemorative Earth Day card anyway. Will use it as an extra card for the free stations.

Well for the guys who have paid for the card, don't feel so bad because there's no idea when the Free Earth day cards will arrive.

I registered, confirmed my email and the only response was "Thank You We will contact you shortly" No mention of when the card will be sent out.

The good thing is my company has recently installed FREE chargepoint stns and the EVs are now all over them. This will greatly save my energy cost over a 26 mile one way commute to cut down on gas stn visits.

That is also what I did. I clicked on the URL in the e-mail message and got the "Thank You We will contact you shortly" page, but there was nothing further to click on, or any way to verify that I had done all required steps and the request was complete.

Being able to charge at work really makes a big difference!

I don't even have to pay for the electricity. I only wish there was a charge station parking spot and connector so that I didn't have to set up my extension cord and charge cable (and pack it back in my car) every day. But hey, for free electricity, I will put up with it!
