I am thinking that I may need to give a second color choice since apparently summer rain is hard to come by here in my area. I really love the winter grey of the regular Prius but haven't actually seen the magnetic grey of the Prius c. I know I would love the summer rain but I am thinking I may like the grey as well and may have a better chance of getting it by the end of the summer if I have a couple color choices. Any thoughts? Thanks!
Magnetic grey is nice, but if you go with a dark color, black is the way to go...my opinion of course -M
Hold out for the Summer Rain. Enough with the thousands shades of gloomy gray that Toyota and other car mfg.s think is the color du jour. If Prius had come in Chrome Yellow...that's what I'm talk'in.
Mag gray was my first choice, but after having both the Black Pearl and the Mag Gray right next to each other, I opted for the black... With the hint of blue in the paint the car had me at hello Plus, my bimmer is gray so i wanted something a bit different
^this^ black = luscious when new, clean, polished, and all the swirls are gone. 2 weeks after new absolutely worst color ever. Most impractical color. white = dull as ditchwater, but practical moonglow = see white... silver = dull as ditchwater too, but at least it's not white gray = the color you end up with because all the real colors were sold out. habanero = perfectly ugly color, but at least it's a color red = lucky you got this beautiful red, but you really wanted blue. blue = I'm so glad I didn't have to settle for red, but I really wanted summer rain summer rain = the best color, by far, if they won't import yellow yellow = next year's most sought after color
That is the reason that I was resistant to the gray because it is what is out there most.. but summer rain may be out of reach for me if I want it in the next three months.. of course my Vue started acting silly today so waiting several months now may not be an option...
I did a "Build Your Own" on Toyota website and did "Locate Your Car", a Summer Rain basic $20K version showed up. So there are some around. You can ask for a quote from the dealer on the car you want. Hold out of the color you really want. It's your car, your identity.
What about Blue Streak Metallic? It's a brighter (or more solid) blue (as opposed to "lighter" blue/green of the Summer Rain) or Absolutely Red or Haberno for other bright and bold colours.
I "settled" for Absolutely Red. I say settled because it was the only one they had. Mostly Silver, Gray and Moonglow around here. The red is growing on me and I am starting to love it. Have not seen a Summer Rain or a Habanero. If you can wait try to hold out for what you want. You will have this car or a long time if you choose to.
If I saw a red or blue streak I might like it I am not sure. Around here we have only had Moonglow or Habanero neither of which I like.
The C that I road tested was Magnetic Grey and I liked it so much that that was the colour that I ordered. I get it at the end of the month.
It is the moonroof I have decided.. I could probably have any color I wanted if I would give up the moonroof! LOL But I don't want to so I won't. Making a last ditch effort to locate the Magnetic Gray C3 with moonroof and after that will just order my C. Four different dealerships looking, who knows? I might get lucky. Of course I have one dealership telling me 3-4 weeks if I order and another telling me 3+ months. My mother called this morning and told me that maybe it wasn't meant to be for me to have a Prius c and that maybe I need to go in another direction because God is telling me something but making it so hard to find the car I want. Wasn't sure what to say to that one....
I think it's more likely that demand is high and supply is low, and you happen to want a car that's tough to find Hold out for what you want!
LOL that is funny Vinnie!! I actually have seen the Magnetic Gray color now and really think I would be happy with either that or the Summer Rain. I love blue/green colors they are my very favorite (my bedroom is painted that color) but I have always like dark gray too but never had a car that color. I think however if I don't hold out for the moonroof, I would be very disappointed later. I had one in a previous car and absolutely loved it. I miss it in my current car. So fingers crossed!
