    Or other radar detector?
It's always the first thing I do to my cars and it's usually easy to find info on the forums, but my search turned up zilch here on priuschat.

Usually i just run the wiring along the top of the windshield, down the a-pillar, into the side of the dash, and that's usually where the fuze box is so I tap into a fuse that has switched power running to it. Where are the fuzes on the Prius? Can i still follow the same basic install? Any tips?

    Thanks!

I have a couple of other things mounted here and there on my windshield that are done that way (i.e., a large-screen Magellan GPS). I don't know where the fuse box is, tho... I assume under the steering wheel area, but that's just a guess from stereo installation wires temporarily clipped up and hanging over to that area).

I'd get the BlendMount to put it right onto your rearview mirror, tho. That's what I did, and the wires don't show at all...

Oh awesome, so blend mount works on this car?
My mirror on my A3 doesn't work with it, so i totally forgot it existed.
So where did you tap into power for your radar?
    Thanks!

I tap the power from left foot well panel and ran the phone cord along the a-pillar and windshield/headliner towards the rear view mirror while installing new head unit. I forgot the exact acc pin/wire but you can search here for that. The v1 is sitting on the right half of the rear view mirror with velcro that i was going to replace with a better magnetic mount but haven't got around to making it. It's been that way for a few years and i can swap easily from car to car when needed. i'll see if i can get a picture later.

Here's the only pic I could find that I had taken before I had put my car into the bodyshop, but I hadn't had it wired yet, as I had just finished sticking it into the car for the 1st time that night:

I don't think my post went through.... I am 99% sure that my stereo guy did it off the mirror wires. Wires for other things are run around the pillar and down to the fuse box, though...

Cool, thanks. Maybe I'll just get that kit I linked to.
Seems easier than running the wire to the fuse box.
I'll get that mirror mount too. :)

GoldPianoGarden, is it possible to adjust the mount so the Valentine One is flush with the bottom of the rearview mirror? I tried another mount and the Valentine One stuck out about an inch below the mirror like your pictures shows. To me, this feels like it blocks my view and bothers me. The BlendMount looks like it could be adjusted so the Valentine One is flush, but I'd like to get confirmation to avoid having to return another mount.

While I'm not GoldPianoGarden, I can answer this as I have recently mounted my V1 with a BlendMount.
Yes it can be adjusted to be flush with the mirror.
The stock position of the mount after I got mine, had my V1 touching the mirror so I had to adjust it down and closer to the windshield a tad.

    Yay, my first post :D

Don't speed....don't worry about a detector.....AND...get better mileage! Isn't that why you bought the car in the first place?

It's not about intentional speeding. I like knowing where the cops are at all times. How many times have people gotten busted because they just weren't paying attention to their speed? That beep wakes you up and keeps you honest. But then again, there are times when it's necessary to bend the rules. :D

I just like following the speeding cops so I can make a citizen's arrest from time to time to keep them honest.... lol

If you look closely, you can see the two "grooves" where you can slide the mount up or down as closely as you'd like to the bottom of the mirror. I just left mine down a little to help prevent any reflection from the mirror causing any loss of the radar signal from getting to the rear antenna on the Valentine. And, I seem to recall the distance from the mirror that I installed mine had something to do with it hitting the top of my laptop screen if my mirror was angled a certain way....
