I purchased my Prius about 9 months ago and it has been flawless until now. Yesterday I washed my beloved Prius for the first time myself, instead of taking it into a car wash. Didn't do anything special, just got a lot of dirt off, didn't take anything apart or go inside the engine or anything. Just hosed it off, washed the wheels, the car exterior and then vacuumed the interior and wiped off all surfaces, including the digital dash display etc., with a nice towel. Today, my Prius is showing speeds over 25 mph OVER what I am driving, consistantly, by estimating compared to the flow of traffic and posted speed limits. So I feel like this can't be a coincidence....what did I do? I have washed plenty of cars in my life, never had this type of issue, but I feel like I jiggled something and messed it up? Could I have done that or is this just a coincidence? Does my car need to be taken to the Dealer? Can I fix this or try and look at something to see why this is off? Thx.
YES! I think that is what I did!!!! I didn't realize there was that option there.....and I know that is what I did....thank you. FEEL like a boneHEAD! thx guys!
I think you could only do that here as in most other countries that Miles or Kilometers per hour switch button is an EV button in other countries.
I believe the EV button is located between the steering column and the driver's door, at least for LHD vehicles.
The EV button on my 2008 is behind the steering wheel (between the column and the centre console). I think that bank of switch locations are where they also keep the parking assist, on models which have that. The klicks/miles button, on the other hand, is on the centre console with the odometer button. I can't guess if the locations on the 2006 would have been different...
US model Gen 2 Priuses (04-09) don't come with EV buttons nor parking assist. RikM's info says he's in the UK.
