How to change the level of the driver and/or passenger seat (not the back of the seat, just the seat height itself), or is it impossible? Thanks in advance.
I have seen a few people do this over the years here and it was a hot discussion quite a while ago so you have some searching to do unless someone has bookmarked it. I'll look around.
jeez wow... this may be the first time in my life that I'm glad I'm only 5' 9.5". I wanted to lower the seat but it is still somewhat reasonable for my height. I'm always jealous of tall people, but never in my life did I expect I would be one of the tall people. I wonder why they would make it fit best for the average asian woman; maybe they are being sexist Then again, it feels almost perfect, just a tiny bit too high, so maybe I should applaud them for making it fit with a wide range around the average human height
The Gen 2 seats were not designed for people with a long torso. Tall people with long legs also complain about the seat position too far forward. My understanding is that the Gen 3 is better; when I sat in one, I had enough headroom but I think that the blind spots due to the front pillars could be worse.
Im 6 ft tall and my torso is longer than my legs. Headroom is fine but yes, it is an awkward seating position for sure, but I have gotten quite used to it and its as comfortable as I have ever experienced. I am annoyingly picky but I also realize that most people are different. Just luck of the draw I guess
As a new owner of a used '08 with leather seats, I am amazed at the lack of adjustability in what is almost the top-level trim package 6 on a base model... I'm 6"4' with long legs and, while I initially thought the seat is too close forward, I got used to it. For daily commute it is fine and the seat is comfortable. It is my wife's car and she, at 5'10" seems to like it and it fits her fine with the seat a notch or two from full rear position. But that seat is tall! Not an issue once in the car, but a couple of days I injured my neck a bit and have trouble hunching down - getting in the car is a problem now, while I thought it had good easy entrance before... And if there was a sun roof I would not be able to ride in the front... We also own a '11 Honda Insight - that has a lot more leg room and actually more head room in the front. And even the base model has height adjustable seats... It is still a low car and I got the same problem entering if my neck or back are stiff. At least there, I can fully stretch my left leg with a 36" inseam (just like I can in the '10+ Prius). Just don't ask me to sit in the rear in the Insit ;(
