I had Bridgestone Ecopia on my 2010 Prius v. (I bought them at Firestone) I noticed that at the L.A. auto show the pip that I test drove had the Bridgestone Ecopias also.... I thought that they would come these...clearly they don't!

Yokohama AVID S33D on my base model. I have had good wear and mileage in the past with Yokohama products. Fingers crossed.

I finally bought a tire pressure gauge and portable tire pump for my new PiP. I inflated my tires to 44/42 psi. I'm hopeful that the reduction in roll resistance gained will further improve my car's gas mileage. I'm also quite pleased because I still like the feel of the ride with the increased tire pressure (it doesn't feel too much more bumpy).

Mine is a Yokohama on the Base model

Question regarding the above advise: I see a WARNING on the side wall not to inflate above 40 PSI for "bead seating" or some such. Is it OK to inflate above 40psi (max PSI rating is 44 on the side wall)?

It seems like this tire is now the most common one people are getting on their recently acquired PiPs.

I have no complaints (except that it's doesn't have the name recognition that Goodyear has).

I just bought a set of Michelin GreenX's for my 09 GenII, and they feel about like the Goodyear Assurance's I got on my Advanced PiP. We kept the GenII so it's an interesting comparison to drive both cars. The rides are quite similar - noise about the same. The Goodyears seem a little better in cornering - to me, anyway - than the Michelins. I paid $119/ea for the Michelins a few weeks ago. So the tires are all roughly the same price.

I wonder if anyone who got the Yokohama tires on their PiP complained and was able to get the Goodyear's (or a tire of their choice)...

(Does anyone think we got a lower quality tire in the Yokohama?)
