I just bought an Optima DS46B24R YellowTop direct replacement battery for my 07 Prius. The cost will be less than $125 after tax, shipping, cash back, coupon code, and main-in-rebate.

Here is how to get it at that price:
    1. Sign up / logon to eBates and click into Advance Auto Parts for 12% cash back (Not sure how long this will last)
    2. Find and add DS46B24R to cart for $200.99
    3. Use coupon code BIG50 to take $50 off $200+ (expire 2050:eek:)
    4. Get free shipping (or store pickup) and pay tax if applicable
    5. Apply for Optima $25 rebate (4/1/2012 to 5/31/2012)

Here is the link for the Optima rebate form

    Act fast and good luck.

great, I originally posted the advance auto parts coupon, if BIG50 stops working people can also use VISA which is $50 off $150 purchase, i wish I knew about eBates sooner as I've spent about $700 at advanceautoparts.com recently for my corolla but its showing only 6% back at Advance Auto Parts, I'm not complaining as that covers my sales tax.

Just searched and saw your post after you mention it. I did not see it before and this wasn't meant to fulfill your double dare but it did:D. Funny that we ended it the same way... "act fast"

Yes I did dare someone to find a way to make it cheaper and you did do that so my hats off to you. I'm so glad I didn't pull the trigger a couple of weeks ago as I now have a $20 rebate coming from Wagner for pads for my Corolla, a $60 rebate coming from Monroe for struts for my Corolla, and now $50 coming from Optima for 2 new 12V's for both my corolla and Prius.

that doesn't include the 6% from eBates, thanks again Eluo.

it appears eBates gives double rebate to one store everyday, but since they have hundreds of stores on their website it will probably take some time for them to offer 12% on advance auto parts again, so their "normal" rebate on advance auto is 6%, just in case anyone gave a hoot.

Received my battery yesterday. Fast UPS delivery, sufficiently packaged and no damage to box or battery. It had a charge of 12.8v. Took the time to put it in and clean out the traction battery fan. With the mileage at around 75000 miles, no pets, two kids and windows closed 95% of the time, the fan had minimal dust build. :)

I suppose, if you buy 2 batteries or have some other items to buy ($100 or more) you can use AP30 coupon. It gives you only $30 off instead of $50 as the BIG50 does, but also promisses $50 off $100 on your next purchase. The Optima $25 rebate is good on up to 4 batteries...

    First battery:
    $200-$30 = $170 for the battery shipped
    - $20 for 12% from eBates (on the $170)
    - $25 Optima Rebate
    TOTAL: $125

    Second battery:
+ $200 for your second battery
    - $50 (for your next >$100 purchase)
    - $18 (12% eBates cash back on $150)
    - $25 Optima Rebate
    TOTAL: 200-50-18-25 = $107

So each battery is $116 delivered (add your local taxes on top of that)

EDIT: I suppose if you buy 2 you don't need to bother with the AP30 code, just get $50 off each individually. But if you are buying something cheaper, around $100, the AP30 is more advantageous as it saves you 50% on your next $100 ;)

my battery arrived quickly with a date code of 4/12, i'm not impressed with the optima, i'm actually getting lower FE than the old toyota one. granted, the old one was on its last legs so I was trickle charging it overnight every single day so it was completely full every morning.

by the way I saw on the advance auto website that they will give you $5 for your old battery. its not much, but what else are you going to do with your old battery?
