    Hey Everyone
I took my 2009 Prius (base package) to the dealer just to ask about trading in preparation for next year and they suggested that I could take it in almost a year early (Actually a year and 2 weeks early).

We crunched the numbers and it made sense to me to upgrade to... a Nautical Blue 2012 Prius with Moonroof Package. Up here in Canada we don't do the number thing, which I think adds more confusion.

We did the test drive, and LOVED the 3rd gen Prius. We loved our 2009, but the 2012 rocks!

Apparently Nautical Blue is not a popular colour, and it looks like we got the last one in the province of Ontario, with the moonroof.

We pick up the new car on Saturday. Wheee!

Congrats on the new purchase. Glad to hear that you see the 2012 as a big improvement over the 2009. I am hoping to experience something similar when I move from a 2004 Gen II.:)

I went with the Nautical Blue sight unseen (based on the depictions on the Toyota website), and the dealer could get one from not far away. Overall I like the color, though it's a bit darker than I was expecting. The main thing I wasn't prepared for, coming from a sport yellow Nissan Frontier, is how much the Nautical Blue shows the dirt! On the plus side, I'm learning how to wash it pretty quickly (the Pilot Automotive water blade has been key in drying the car quickly before the water spots have a chance to form).

I also found that adding the lower door moldings really gave it a sportier look.

    Enjoy your 2012!

I love the Nautical Blue, but yeah it does show dirt very easily.

2nd gen, one can short of six pack on interior/chassis design. 3rd gen greatly improved, but a few smaller quirks. 4th gen should be pretty hot if they keep all the good, remove the bridge and improve steering wheel placement and adjustment, armrests, interior materials, reduce potential for rattles (I don't have any baddys yet), find a way to minimize short trip MPG loss (would active grill shutters work?)

I really hope when Gen 4 comes they keep the bridge. It is one of my favorite features inside.
