Has anyone received the $1500 CA CVRP Clean Vehicle Rebate Project rebate on their PIP?

Hi all

I bought my 2012 Prius 3 on march 4th and I just came across this post. I got my car through the internet sales department for Momentum Toyota in Fairfield, CA. Although the sales guy never mentioned a rebate? Is there a website I can go to so that I can verify if I'm eligible?

 

Was it from the state or CSEC?

 

The rebate discussed in this thread is for the plug-in model.

 

The rebate is only for the Prius Plug-in model.

 

Never mind my last post. I found out after doing some research. As far as Prius owners are concerned, the rebate only applies to Plug-in drivers. ::shake fist::

It was from CSEC. It was actually Clean Vehicle Rebate Project on the check, I think. I will confirm in a few minutes. It was definitely not State of California. The address was in San Diego on Balboa Street.

Yeah! Got mine today.

 

Looks like those in Southern California are getting them first. Makes sense, since they are being mailed from San Diego. We'll see how long snail-mail takes to get them to those of us in Northern California.

 

It's also dependent upon when the paperwork was received at their offices. My application reached them on March 24th. I imagine that LurkAzusa and Tracksyde sent their applications in much sooner than I did. I'm gonna guess I'll get my rebate check in a couple of weeks...

 

Nice. When did you send in your stuff? You have had your PIP for about a month, right?

 

On the check stub, there was a date.. I'm pretty sure that was the date they received my application (just confirmed, yes, I filled out the online form on 2/28).. well, my online application. That date was Feb 28 2012. If I recall, I sent all my paperwork in on 3/2 or 3/5.

 

So has anyone here gotten their rebate check other than Tracksyde and LurkAzusa?

 

Not yet, I got my confirmation of documentation received on 3/9 - about a week after them. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it arrives this week.

 

Of course you should check with your accountant, but I don't think this rebate is taxable. If for some reason it is taxable, I imagine you'd be able to deduct the sales tax you paid on the rebate amount.

 

Earlier discussion noted it's not taxable because it's a rebate of money you paid to buy the car, rather than some form of extraneous "income."

 

Sent in on 3/5, details sent in Priority mail to San Diego on 3/6, email approved on 3/9. Still waiting..

 

The check arrived in the mail today, roughly a three week process from approval.

 

Add my name to the lucky bunch of rebate recipients! Came in the mail today!
