Ram pickup axes shift lever in favor of dashboard knob

    The 4wd selector went from a gear shift to a knob or buttons years ago. This is just a natural step in the progression. There will be more push back with it though. Changing something that is used all the time is riskier, and many still think their is a hard mechanical linkage between the current shifter and the transmission.

    The 2013 Ram looks promising with the new Pentastar and the 5.7 HEMI getting the 8 speed auto. THey've also added louvers on the grille that open and close based on engine temps to reduce drag as well as air suspension that lowers the truck at highway speeds to help with air flow.
