I just finished installing the LED DRL kit this afternoon. Got the kit on amazon for $25. The installation was very straight forward- there's just an adhesive backing to stick it to wherever you feel fit. I spiced them into the existing driving light wiring- piece of cake! And I think they look pretty swell!
They're made by http://www.amazon.com/Plasmaglow-10875-Lightning-White-Headlight/dp/B004WNYBCO. Okay, so I lied. They were more like $26
not bad! I'm waiting to do my own.. but still waiting to purchase as well as planning on how to do it... in the meantime, i have other plans at the moment for the car
i always find better/cheaper alternatives to do things.. heheh.. i just ordered the material I'm planning to use from overseas.. it'll take a little while for it to arrive, but the end result should be great. i'll be joining ya soon with the LED look
Just did a simple T-tap into the driving lights. That way, I know they will behave like driving lights
i did see 3 concerns on the amazon site. one was that the lights are actually blue instead of white. this caused concern in tn, where i also live, that he was getting pulled over for wrong color lights. the second one was that they seemed extremely fragile. the third was that the adhesive was short lived. do not get me wrong, though, these look really neat. reminds me of a new audi or porsche!
It looks like he glued them to the outside of the headlight fixture with the adhesive that comes on the back. I have been looking at them also. Dan
So how do you run the wire into the car? Just underneath the hood from the exterior? Love the look. Any instructions on how you did the t taps? Which wire, etc. thanks! I'd love to add this.
Did anyone else do this or have any advice on how to proceed? I am seriously considering doing this and perhaps adding red circle ones to the stop lights in the back.
I say stick them on the top of the headlight to give the C an eyebrow look. Buy extras for when the kids peel them off at the mall parking lot.
