What are people seeing with the mileage estimates on a fully-charged
    PIP battery?

When I picked up my car from the dealer, I believe it showed 12.1. The numbers slowly increased over time and after one charge, it was 13.3.

Since the 13.3 reading, I'm getting decreasing numbers every time I
    charge. I'm now seeing 12.4.

In actual driving, I'm seeing slightly better results than the "posted"
number because of regenerative braking. So, I'm not disappointed with
the system... just curious what others are seeing.

    Thanks.

Over the past 5 weeks, I've seen (almost in this order):

    13.3
    13.1
    12.8
    12.6
    12.4
    12.1
    11.9
    11.8
    11.6
and today, a new low of 11.4

My range is the same and my battery still charges to the same maximum as before. As many of us concluded here, it is most likely just calculating a "best estimate" based on your history and past driving patterns.

My daily morning commute, which I make entirely on electric, is about 13.5 miles. I consistently make it to work with about 1.0-1.4 miles of EV range left, regardless of what my initial EV range says.

If you ventilation is on, turn it off and you may get about 1 mile back. I am typically seeing about 11.8 at full charge- with the air off.

I see your posted MPG and I'm chasing it. I'm currently at an estimated
80 MPG. I hope to make it to 90 before my first fill up!

There are few people here that will do much better than that, I'm guessing. But I can't complain, better than the 18MPG I was getting before :D

If you havent already done so, you should sign up on Fuelly.com

I wouldnt worry too much about the battery. It is a little irritating to see the number drop fairly consistently, but I think its safe to say that there shouldnt be any issues this early in the game.

I only see 2 PIPs on fuelly.com with relatively low numbers; are other
    PIP numbers posted elsewhere?

Fuelly only shows participants who have 3 fill-ups or more. When no one had 3, it showed everyone. Now, to see everyone, you have to click this tiny link at the top that says "show all". Here's the page with everyone displayed:

Hey, good to see another Oregonian on the chat. I've had my PIP since March 7 and with all this cool weather, I've been seeing consistent full charge readings of 11.4. My overall mileage is showing 74 mpg and the first tank of gas actual mileage was 71.3 vs. the readout of 73 mpg. Where did you take delivery?

The PIP seems to estimate how far it thinks you can go on a charge, due to your driving pattern. My PIP is doing the same thing..Starting at 13.1 now around 11.5 I have a lot a small hills where I live and they eat up range. On flatter terrain you'll go a lot farther. It's a great car.

Track, interesting that your getting 13.5 every day, and your PIP is still estimating down! I guess the reality is that the number that's showing isn't as important as how far you can travel in the real world.

I think the numbers are going to vary wildly, as we will all have different EV/HV usage. I only get 4-5 true EV miles per weekday out of 60, for example, but I CAN charge at work. If I were not able to do so it'd be HV almost the whole way home and much lower MPG. I also anticipate more EV miles on the weekend for short trips.

Overall I am predicting low 60s MPG for me where the Gen III Prius I replaced was low 40s for the same. I have put both cars' Fuelly links in my sig so we can see a direct comparison of the PIP's advantage.

Well, I feel a bit cheated. Brand new, my display showed 11.3. After two weeks I'm down to 10.1. The temperature has been fairly mild so I'm not using the climate control much....who knows.

Yes, I've noticed it too. I hoped it would go UP, instead of DOWN.

Another PiP thread that is not inspiring my purchase decision.

Well, how about just went down 4 bars on fuel gauge, 410 miles on trip meter, hsi showing 110 mpg.

If i stay off the freeway, i just might make that 1k tank.

It's a fantastic car. I spoke with the dealer today and was told what we already figured out here. The number the car computes is derived from our driving pattern, not the state of the battery charge. I drive almost pure EV and in three weeks my gas tank is still 99.9% full and my MPG is still showing 999MPG.:)

I think you will like it. Your EV miles depends on your driving habits. Maybe the people who have 10 miles just floor it at stop-signs.

I'm finding that. even in my 3rd week of driving, I am learning how to drive more efficiently.

    It is an awesome car!

My number has been going up... :)

That looks good, but don't forget Fuel Economy which has 'My MPG'. I tracked my fuel records there for most of the 2 1/2 yrs that we had our 2010. Lots of info on the whole site as well.

I got my car on 3/19. I commute 31 miles each way 3 days per week (cycle the other days) and am only able to partially charge from work for the way home (They don't have a real charging option yet - there working on it). I haven't had to fill up yet but I currently have almost 700 miles and am sitting at 105mpg with about 1/3 tank left. Unfotunately I don't do many short trips so only use full EV about 1/3 of the time. Once I fill up, I will post the numbers. Although there are always little things that I think could have been done, like the battery charging cable bag, hint, hint, I agree that this car is awesome! I expect to have to fill up by the end of next week so stay tuned.
