    How many gallon consumption does it say on that screen?

    Your electricity consumption is very low. It is about 246 Wh/mile with 15% charging loss included.

    Hi:

    EV ratio screen includes:
    17g
    fuel saved by chg: 4.8g

    should be noted that this total mileage figure includes 650 mile trip from Va. Beach home to Woodstock, GA., which logged 1 charge vehicle came with and 1 charge overnight at friend's house. ended up with 61.1 mpg at pump for first fillup.

    That's great. 1018 HV miles / 17 gallons = 60 MPG on gas.

    The important highlight is you saved 4.8 gallon of gas with 1.7 equivalent gallon of electricity (58kWh). There is a net gain, not simply a substitute.

    thanks for the details John! very clear. one thing i would add is separate column for total miles driven (although i "could" add them together) but also looking at your driving to see how much difference you could have done on EV if having a longer range like a 35-40 mile EV range like a Volt.

    still very impressive numbers!

    My 30 miles this morning was 59 mpg, still tweaking where to spend my EV miles. Interestingly enough, my EV/HV screen shows 6% EV (2mi) and 94% HV (28mi), but the EV battery seems to be "supercharging" my HV mode, as I am depleting the battery on arrival (0.6mi left today, left 1.0 on the table yesterday).

    Quote of the day yesterday from bystander when plugging in at work: "is your car ok?"

    Yea, it looks like when the battery charge is being depleted, power blended with the gas engine, it is counted as HV mile. EV mile is only when you are running on the battery without gas.

    59 MPG is really good considering Gen2 gave you ~40 MPG due to elevation gain.

    We received our car on 3/9 ( basic pip )

    Here is my report on first fueling.

    Total miles 922

    EV miles 280 58KWh

    HV miles 642 mpg on gas portion 67.53

    Fillup 9.506 Gal. gives 96.99mpg PIP computer shows 97mpg

    I did not fill more after the pump stopped automatically, so this mpg is probably overly optimistic.

    About half of it is local driving and half highway driving. Both me and my wife are drive quite conservatively.

    I think these are the best numbers I've seen so far.

    What was your previous car and how well did you get in reference to EPA MPG?

    Just looking for frame of reference. Those are great numbers.

    These are really great numbers, thanks for posting.
    Did you take any EV/HV strategy or just drove it?

    No particular strategy except to accelerate and decelerate carefully and charge just about once every day and run it in the EV mode first.

    This is my wife's car. She had a Honda accord V6 which gave 26-28 mpg combined. I drive a Volvo V70 ( manual) and usually mange to get 38-41 mpg out of it.

    That is a good one!!!

    Half the reason to drive one these car's is to get them into the public's view so they know there are alternatives to spending so much money at the pump. Be it a Volt, Leaf, PiP, or something else... the future is drivable today. The PiP fits my needs perfectly.

    Just tell them that the car is sick... sick of using gas! :)

    I hadn't heard back from you before I had to put in my first tank of gas (tonight)... but I adopted the exact same statistics. It's like that is what they (the 'trips') are set up to do.

    Tonight, I participated in a once very familiar ritual that somehow, now, seemed only vaguely familiar: I finally had to fill my new PiP up with gas... Horrors!!! :eek:

    EV Driving Ratio:
    EV = 1097 miles (68%)
    HV = 516 miles (32%)
    229 kWh
    8+ gallons (put in extra: 8.75 gallons @ $3.839 / gallon)
    Fuel Saved By Charge = 19.1 gallons

    Hybrid System Indicator:
    Total = 1613.5 miles (only 4 'cruising miles' left!)
    Consumption = 192 mpg
    Average Speed = 25 mph (lots of city driving)

    I'm liking this car so far... :)

    The "A" and "B" worked well with the 2010.

    It took forever to figure out exactly what detail I actually should & could track on a daily & tank basis. These are the webpages I setup to share that info...

    There's a spreadsheet available too.

    Just wait until you get my upcoming stats.

    I've got 400 to 600 miles of driving coming up... and may not having any opportunity to recharge along the way. To make matters worse, I'll have bikes on the back.

    Imagine what that's going to do to my stats.

    :doh:

    In two weeks, I will have a weekend of driving with about 150 miles driven each day. It will be sad to see my mpg average go under 100 mpg. At least it should stay > 50 mpg!

    (And my daughter will be safely in her car seat in the middle back seat...one more very good reason for me to not have a Vikt).
