I have read the threads on the fuel guage in regular Prius'...Thought I would ask a question related to the Prius C... I am getting close to the end of my first tank...I had two bars this morning...went to lunch (only 2 miles) and came back and noticed only one bar flashing. Manual says 1.2 Gallons left when the flashing starts...Anyone have experience with the accuarcy of the guage? Going to fill up on the way home from work...I will report back -M
Well, is managerman walking along the side of the road to the nearest filling station? Maybe someone should take a spin down there and take a quick look if there's a dried up c sitting along the side of the road.
well, im sure everyone knows this but just in case. i believe all the prius gurus will agree.NEVER, NEVER, NEVER let a prius run out of gas. this can be about the only way you can damage the big a.. battery.
Nope...Not necessary...Here is the UPDATE! I could not go directly to the gas station after work...ended up putting another 30 miles on the tank...Filled up this morning I was able to pump in 8.932 gallons...(I only fill to the first auto stop) So I only had about .5 gallons left in the tank...maybe a little less ....My total mileage for this fillup was 54.8 MPG (489.2 miles) Car computer said my average was 55.4. So about a 1.1% off....not bad Conclusion (at least for this fillup) is that the when the last bar starts blinking 1.2 gallons left does make sense...there actually might be a bit less than that.... Hope this helps! -M
Major problem with gas gauge not being accurate We had 2 bars showing and got the warning sign "Hybrid system not working pull over immediately". The cruising range was at least 20. It had run out of gas. 10 days later it ran out of gas again and the cruising range over 30 and just had gone down to 2 bars. Gauge replaced. I still don't think it is working accurately.
